Two weeks ago my '89 328 started having a rough cold idle (500 rpm instead of 1000 rpm). The car runs fine when I keep the rpms up and driving down the road. The rough idle goes away when the engine come up to operating temperature (~190 deg.F). Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can look to correct this problem (still learning about this car)? Thank you.

I had a similar problem with my '87 328 and eventually discovered that the cold start fuse was blown. I replaced it and the problem was fixed. I hope that yours can be as simple as that.

I checked my fuse, it's fine. Additional information (spent time to look at the issue) - warm up idle is very rich, also there is little to no throttle response. Thank you.

Sounds like you may have a relay in the left side trunk might be loose. I would check that, and there is a fuse that goes in there as well. Its under the floor in the trunk.

If its not that, I would look at an air leak, in the aux air valve... under the coolant catch tank....

other than that you probbably need to take it in to a mechanic... but It seems to me its most likely electrical.
