I'm glad to hear you guys are getting some mileage out of the post. I am a real fan of this face as it modernizes the look of the dash a bit. Chas, I have a six speed and the tach face is exactly the same as the F-1. The only real difference is the six speed is a tad faster,..LOL.
Bump for Traknut. There are screws under the bottom tray, remove them all (five I beleive). Also, be EXTREMELY careful and patient in wiggling it out. Then remove the gate bolt on the bottom of the steering column so it will drop an additional inch or two--you'll need it. Then remove the hex screws on the guage cluster. The rest is well documented in the photos. Send me questions... Cheers~
Is that the 2nd gen? This looks really good if so. Actually worth buying over the last ones that looked so faded
We are going to do a prototype installation on my 575M to see how it looks. Thanks to this thread for the inspiration. Taz Terry Phillips
Hi Terry, I'm hope it helps you on the 575. Please post pics as I'd love to see your finished project. Bill
Bill- Wilco. The car is at the shop now. Too chicken to do this myself. The tach overlay was supposed to arrive yesterday, but has not made it yet. Fed-Ex not to the rescue. Taz Terry Phillips
I understand. If you lived closer I'd give you a hand with it. Bummer about FedEx,..you'll appreciate it when its in. Pics when you get it back
Bill- Showed up this afternoon. We are going to make sure everything like lighting works using a 360 overlay with 8500 rpm redline like yours. If ok, Daniel at Ricambi is going to have 25 made up with 575M redlines. Price will be less than $300. More expensive than yours, but there were only 1800 575Ms built versus 17,000 360s. We have one of the top instrument restoration shops in the states here in Albuquerque and they will install the new overlays. When I get a production overlay, I think I will have them paint the instrument needles red as well. Might as well go whole hog. The needles on the 575M look easier to paint than those on the 360. Taz Terry Phillips
Okay, Look at the hub carefully. See where the concavity of the hub matches the needle? Specifically, the two protrusions fit into the hub where the two holes are. This is where I lined mine up, then tested the needle V E R Y G E N T L Y!!! It worked fine. Then I put it together. I can only think that you may have been off ever so little, causing the mis-alignment. Pics will tell a lot though. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank You very much Bill. I will post pics of my screw up so others can avoid. By the way, for those new to the Ferrari family. This is an absolutley great cost effeictive upgrade! And one that can be performed by yourself, assuming you can follow very detailed and picture supported instructions (unlike yours truely).
Is anyone making speedometer replacements? I have a Canadian car with only Km/hr labeled. Living in California now would love to have Miles on there. I'm pretty handy around my car, so this is a great DYI project for me. But I can't seem to find the replacement panel.
Hmmm. Check with Daniel at Ricambi. He may be able to point you in the right direction if not get one for you. He's a sponsor on the site and provides the best service around.
