Thats the first time I have seen the old style. The reason they issued the modification was described to me by Steve from Maranello Classic Parts who was around when the cars were new. He mentioned that if the car got a build-up of water on the roof, when braking it would all shoot forward and go down the gap past the seal and end up on the drivers lap. Customers didnt seem to much like pulling up in their new Ferrari and getting out looking like they had wet themselves! Spoilt the image a little.
