    Hi

Does anyone have a solution for getting new rubber bumper inserts for QP III bumper? Mine are fine but one has a tear. Can they be remade or is there a supply. I did buy one extra bumper set but even this is not perfect. Thoughts and solutions?

I think it is 1 and 89. The long rubber inserts that go onto the main front and rear bumper.

Eurospares does not carry them. It is the main front and rear rubber components on the main bumpers. I bought a bumper from the US that was "perfect" but mine was better. It may be that the hard black rubber needs to be remade in some way. Does anyone have experience in commissioning such a remake?

I have never done it myself, but I do remember that when big rubber bumpers were on many of the cars of the day the general auto parts stores carried a product specifically made to repair the rubber. It was like "Bondo" or body filler for rubber. I wonder how close a match could be made of the color and texture of the original. There was also a special paint, or an additive for paint, that allowed the rubber to be painted. I had a customer with a USA 308 that painted his bumpers body color. It actually looked pretty good and it has held up for years.

I think that the bumper is a steel foundation that has the rubber molded to it, so it isn't like the rubber is a "cover" that can be replaced.
