My 86 328 GTS needed the rubber piece that fits in on the bottom right side of the window (when looking at the car from the outside with window up). I ordered the piece and installed but the window will not close all the way (about a 1/4 inch gap) when the door is shut. When the door is open it goes up all the way. I have to open the door, close the window and then reclose the door to get a good seal.

Any ideas? The Ferrari dealer ordered the part for me but it is slightly different than the piece on the other door. Perhaps an updated version?

If it looks different, they might have sent the wrong part. It is also possible that the part (since it is rubber) could have been incorrectly moulded.

Take it back to the dealer (or drive the car to the dealer) and illustrate the problem. Unless they are horrible dealers, they should be able to swap it out for a correct or better fitting piece. Likely, they ordered an incorrect piece for you!!!

Try this: lubricate all the felt channels with silicone spray lube.
