This weekend in Las Vegas is the Superkarts USA Supernationals events. Its the largest kart race in the US with every driver that comes from all of the world to compete. I am sure there are some of you who have attended in the past or maybe even raced it. Rubens Barrichello will be racing in the KZ class this weekend along with my son. This is exciting for me as I get to see my son raced against one of my all time favorite drivers. I have attached the link for the event. See if any of you who are local come out and watch.

For gods sake tell your son not to beat him, Rubens will start crying LOL...... only joking...great opportunity for your son, Rubens is a talented driver, watched him a lot, and he certainly had more talent than he is credited with, but of course, Michael was so good, he made everyone look mediocre back then!

I am not in Vegas but have friends there now. Good luck for your son.

Barrichello is an awesome driver but against the professional karting drivers such as Paolo de Conto it's almost mission impossible:

    Good luck to your son!

Luca Mars is killing it in Jr KA 100. Kid can wheel a kart!

His dad and I raced as a team a couple of weeks ago at the NCMP endurance race.

We race Billy all the time at Calspeed, he is fast and happy to see him win Supernats 2nd year in a row. Cant wait for next season to race the 175cc, we just got ours a couple weeks ago. My son finished 16th in KZ coming from 31st, however with the new push back bumper system, he was penalized and was moved down to 22nd.

Congrats to your son, coming in 16th is a great result. KZ is such a competitive class.

My kid raced in the Micro Swift class. We met Rubens during Wednesday practice, my son was thrilled to shake hands with a former Ferrari driver.

I think Microswift is as competitive or even more then KZ. My son met Rubens, actually he came up to my son and wished him good luck, that was very nice of him.

Rubens was always a gentleman in F1... I think sometimes that was his main problem, he’s too nice, much like Felipe Massa. The two of them both had amazing skill behind the wheel, but maybe the absolute killer instinct was the one edge they both couldn’t bring themselves to activate often enough (and Felipe suffered greatly I think from his accident in Hungary, he was never the same driver afterwards). It’s great to see both of them involved in motorsports at grass roots levels these days giving a little back.

Wishing your son all the success in the world moving forward, maybe one day we’ll be talking about him and his chances in F1!

Great result, congrats! The level of competition in KZ is out of this world. When Schumacher raced in the Supernationals I think he ended up in 9th or something.
