How foolish are they being..for an unknown quantity in Nico.
Rubens is a proven ******bag. He is the one driver I would never hire if I were running a team. Even without his tantrums THIS YEAR, he did permanent damage to the sport with his petulant theatrics at the Austrian GP where he managed to get team orders banned in a team sport. The only driver to have damaged F1 more than Rubinho is his compatriot, one Ayrton Senna da Silva.
wow...now I've heard everything. Rubens ruined the sport by team orders, NOT Ferrari, and Senna is solely responsible for damaging F1 by what I assume is dying? What utter ****e.
I have never really liked Rubens but Button as WDC is a awful prospect, another Damon Hill...will be interesting to see what Nico can do a decent car!
Well, while i would like to see Nico in a decent car, i won't write off Rubens 100%. He still has it, the last few races, he's been much more consistent performer compared to Button.
Not really ****e, Rubens could have done what the team legally asked in a much more subtle way instead of throwing his teddy out the cot the way he did. Wether people liked it or not it was within the rules, Rubens managed to make the situation much worse than it needed to be. As for Senna, no, he didn't damage F1 by dying. He was the founder of the "win at all costs" method (or have people here convieniently forgotten the deliberate ramming of Prost in the Ferrari at Suzuka in 1990, again, teddy out the cot time!), and this is how he damaged F1. Schumacher takes alot of flak for his racing attitude but he got it from watching Senna!

4rePhill, Team orders have been part of racing for a very long time and I certainly understand the reasons to have them. It isn't Rubens fault. It is the governing bodies fault. Rubens might not like it but he was considered the number two driver period and that is what you have to deal with. But now we have this idea that the drivers are equal which is nonsense. Are you serious? Senna is not completely at fault for the crash in 1990. Prost one of the biggest babies ever didn't like the fact that Senna was purely better than Prost in ever way. Or do you not remember the Mexico race where Senna out thought Prost and set different tires up to better last during the race and just drove off into the distance. In 1989 FIA president a frenchman sided with Prost and ruled against Senna even after Senna pitted and replaced his front wing and went on to win the race. Prost knew during that race that Senna was faster and better and he was going to find away past. That is why he drove into him before that corner. No driver would have turned so early for that corner it was Prost's inability to realize he was not as good as Senna period. And that decision handed the Championship to Prost so in the following year Senna did the same thing to Prost and Prost didn't like it. There are plenty of other examples of Senna being superior to other drivers of the era. Cheers,
True. Good call on his part. Brawn probably wanted an experienced guy to get things off the ground, now he's choosing younger talent that he can work with and show results. He'll pull it off.
After a race this year, Rubbino said, "I don't know how the hell I lost that race." Ross B said, "You can;t win a race when your fastest lap ranks 11th." Rubbens just doesn't get it.
Just look at points scored this year - Nico has done a stupendous job in an average car, vs Rubens doing an average job in a stupendous car. Experience doesn't mean quality... I'd take Nico over Rubens any day.
