    +1.

Over Hakkinen's career how many wins were gifted to him? I can think of atleast 2, his first win and this one.

As a man I'd not be proud of those, infact I would have told Ron to "go swivel" at the suggestion.

The biggest problem I have with it is that publicly McLaren made a big deal of the fact that there were no team orders applied in their team, and that both drivers were free to race each other unlike in other teams (for other teams read Ferrari).

But in reality, on several occasions Coulthard was told to give way to Hakkinen or to back off and not put pressure on Hakkinen.

After Coulthard left McLaren, he admitted that his contract prevented him from saying anything at the time, but team orders did apply when the team saw fit. This situation didn't occur to the same degree as Ferrari, but it did exist.

At least at Ferrari they were open and honest about it. (And Rubens knew all about it).

As I say, My biggest problem with McLaren is that they were forever banging on about how they were the most honest team in the paddock and always did things the right way, and then got caught cheating, bending the rules and lieing like the rest of them! (and I include Ferrari in that statement!).

At least the rest of the teams didn't claim to be saints!.

Anyway, Nico's the future, Rubens is the past! (just to get back on topic :) )
