Rubens has beaten Coulthard to the punch: Rubens Barrichello insists he is still on course to become Formula One's World Champion
In NASCAR speak Rubins said "ah's allus thar, ah's allus fully committed," he said, cuss it all t' tarnation. "Eff'n, one day, ah sh'd start reckonin' an' say thet 'look, ah will nevah ketch Ichabod' ah's sho'nuff thet fum thet day ah w'd not stay at Ferrari on account o' ah w'd lose th' motivashun t'be th' best." "ah still haf th' motivashun t'be th' best. Whether this hyar will take place this hyar year, o' t'other year, we doesn't know. It's a-gonna depend on mah wawk, it depends on whut ah can does, it will depend on how ah will adjest t'th' noo rules." "But these is jest wo'ds. ah have t'keep mah right foot down, ah have t'use mah haid, ah have t'be as calm as ah have been, as enny fool kin plainly see." Barrichowdy draws inspirashun fum his perfo'mance on home groun' in Brazil at th' end of last season, when he took a comman'in' pole posishun befo'e bad luck wif tyres dropped him t'third in th' race. "ah was pow'ful happy thet ah was calm, ah drove th' car easily, on account o' ah pow'ful wanted t'drive th' car on account o' ah love whut ah do," he said, cuss it all t' tarnation. "ah have a team behind me which is extremely nice, wif all th' engineers, mah mechanics, ev'ryone an' so pow'ful it is all injoyable fum mah point." "ah's also happy thet Ichabod is in th' team on account o' it means thet we kin push even mo'e, etch one pushes t'other t'go faster."
it could happen. stranger things have. anything's possible. there are so many variables to consider. perserverence furthers. he who laughs last looks silly.
Even so, I'm not quite sure that, god forbid, something prevents Michael from competing, Rubens would be a shoe-in for the Championship. He'd be the favorite for sure, but he doesn't have that on-track killer instinct that Schumi has.
Agreed. Also I think (hope) that this year it will be even a fight for Michael. Another cartoon from Auto hebdo: A little later the rather defensive Barrichello dreams about passing his master... "Hey ya, watch out Michael. I'm gonna pass you!" "Enough Rubens. You've been chewing my ears long enough. Go back to your seat. I got a race to run." Image Unavailable, Please Login
But will Rubinho and Michael have a tough fight to begin with? This is to do with Ferrari bringing in the F2005 in Spain, I am wondering if this would put them at a disadvantage to the others who are bringing a 2005 spec car from the start. I know that this strategy worked well for Ferrari in 2002 but will it happen again?
I think RB will finish 4th in the championship. (like in 2003) Has DC said '"this is my year"(again)? I hope not...
Rumor has it that DC has hired a slew of laywers claiming that RB has infrigned upon DC's intellectual property. Seems DC copyrighted that phrase a few years ago Apparently DC has a 99 year copyright on the phrase and we will most likely be hearing "this is my year" when DC is in his 70's. Regards, Jon P. Your post brings back memories of that classic example of American literature "Huckleberry Finn." The first and only time I was forced to read that book was when I was in Japan, summer before senior year in high school. I had just finished reading Crime and Punishment, and I literally did not believe Huck Finn was a real book. I thought it was a joke. Maybe Twain thought the same. I hope he did. As for Rubens, that's the way he's supposed to feel. It's excellent for him, Schumacher and Ferrari. That's why he's on the team, because he thinks he can win or at least perform very well in every race. Forza, Cavallini
Agreed, but even if that did happen ... RB will not be champion, as he will melt under the pressure that he loads on to himself. He's a great guy and all, but no champion. Pete
Of course it's Ruben's year. He just forgot to mention that his year starts after Micheal's year is over. Silly Rubino.
