Maurizio Arrivabene replaces Mattiacci as Ferrari F1 team boss - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com Did not see this in the last two pages, so sorry if repost.
Knowing something about F1 marketing, and running an F1 team overseeing engineers and designers along with high paid drivers is 180 degrees different. Why Ferrari would not go after someone with actual experience is just strange. Unless of course anyone with experience would not take a chance working for a team in political and managerial turmoil and rejected any offer.
Okay, that all sounds great, but I'm a bit sceptical about whether it all adds up to the guy in direct charge of day to day and race to race workings of the team. I hope I'm wrong, and time will tell.
That's actually what I was thinking. Alonso also mentioned something about his becoming concerned that they weren't pursing engineers aggressively enough in 2013. Looks like the dark suits are fully back at Maranello..
MB is in F1 to sell cars. This whole green engine formula was adopted at MB's demand for "relevant" cars.
This whole thing reminds me of "House of Cards"! We should now officially start a "Ferrari Sucks" thread!
As far as MB is concerned, certainly, but a year in and it seems like a bad, expensive idea for everyone else.
From James Allen (Mattiacci dumped as Ferrari F1 boss ? Arrivabene Arrives to Spearhead Revival | James Allen on F1 ? The official James Allen website on F1) Sounds to me this isn't so much about Arrivabene as Mattiacci. But altogether it just comes across as a shambles. When did sacking lots of people lead to a good outcome? Jonathan
The major thing last week was the new driver lineup. Maybe Mattiaci could not manage to let Alonso go without braking the contract from Ferraris side and is now held responsible for a crazy payment that was speculated about?
Alonso stated that he could leave because Ferrari released his contract, despite not being obligued to do it, so I suppose that they didn´t pay anything.
It's typical of a re-org for any corporation. And sacking / laying off lots of people have had great outcomes before, even for the people who get sacked (with time) =) Flood gates are opened at Ferrari now, also expect production #s of limited edition cars to go through the roof.
Ferrari's "Fire Everybody" Strategy Just Sacked Their Aerodynamicist Now Tombaziz too. Not a surprize there.
Well that gets to what F1 should be. To me it fails the test bed test when there's higher tech on road cars than F1 rules allow. What we have now is F1 serving as an advert for road tech. Either way the new green tech has priced many teams and all small engine makers out if F1 and provided an advantage for the firm that forced it on the sport.
Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius (Kill them all. For the Lord knoweth them that are His.)
Sure looks like Panic in Marenello, to the tune of Davis Bowie's Panic in Detroit. And that will not solve the problems. They should have hired JG, business mentality with a great knowledge of motorsports.
Never heard that one. Translation is correct though. Albeit very simple latin. Given the grammar and context I'd say early Medieval. Cicero it is not.
