Now we really need to do a run with the MINIS. Tony's a hell of a driver and was the first MINI pro racer out there:

    Hi Everyone,

Just a short note to let you know that we took third place at the SCCA Double National race Pocono International speedway this weekend. In a wet/dry qualifying on Friday we earned sixth on the grid. In Saturdays race we took sixth place after getting tied up in traffic with some SSC class cars.

Due to torrential rains most of the day most of the scheduled Saturday races were held Sunday morning. This canceled qualifying for Sundays race so qualifying results for Saturdays race were used for Sunday. I got caught behind the same car as in Saturdays race and again he was blocking me. As a result I got hit hard from behind by, you guessed it a Dodge Neon. And he got by me. On the next time around in the same turn I repaid the favor. But the hit I took caused some rear body parts to be dragged behind the car. I was black flagged and had to come into the pits. I was running third at the time. I was shouting at the stewards to get me out. Lucky there are no pit lane speed limits like in pro racing so I was able to get back out ahead of the forth place car and hold on to third. With about five laps to go a full course caution came out and it was my last chance at a shot to get second place. Unfortunately the leader had just passed me and when the safety car picked him up I lost the chance to catch the Camaro. If I had been in front of the leader I could have caught the pack and had a chance on the restart. But in spite of having a very crashed (2 front fender/hood and rear quarter and bumper) and getting black flagged during the race, we unofficially took third.

When I left the track the race was still being protested by a number of racers so I'm still waiting for the final results. I don't know who was being protested but if one of the two cars ahead of me is DQ'd I will move up and get the two points I need to finish third in the Divisional Championship.

Now we have to repair and rebuild the car. We will go to the The Runoff's (SCCA national Championships)next month having finished in the top five of the very difficult NE Division.

    See you at the races!
