Ok, so the "Running of the Bulls" was like "A few Lambos and a bunch of other stuff." We drove from NYC with a VT, 2 Gallardos... a 993, 2 360s, a Vette, a Viper, an NSX, a Supra, another Supra, an old 6.9 Litre 300D Benz ... and an Eagle Talon.

    Yes, an Eagle Talon.

I'm probably forgetting a few cars, but there was an Eagle Talon and he did, in fact, cause a problem when he sort of spun and John Chen sort of hit him. It was a gentle hit, but a hit nontheless. At a rest stop up the road, the CT State Police did a police report and issued a ticket or two to the Talon driver. John is fine -- no tickets -- but his $10,000 carbon fiber challenge car grill and extra-capacity oil cooler setup will need complete replacement. ;-)

We proceeded up to the test facility -- getting lost only 4 times and arriving a tad late. Whatever, we had fun. We watched and rode in a Suzuku Verona spin under hard braking tests -- a lot. Watched a Toyota Tundra and a Ford F150 bottom out coming up the test hill, saw a bunch of other cool stuff fly around a skid pad, but it was hot and we were hungry.

After lunch we left, got lost again, drove 80+ miles out of the way to get to the thruway because Dan wanted to do something -- something that he didn't do (wuss) -- and had a leisurely cruise home...

Oh, and there were a lot of Lambos up at Consumer Reports, but that part of the show I considered to be "The Parking of the Bulls" -- and wasn't too exciting. ;-)

A fun day. Very hot. I cannot wait to relax and clean tomorrow.

Top Ten Things Overheard at the "Running of the Bulls"

    - "Can you give us a Police Escort?" (Rob to the CT State Police)

    - "Slow it Down" (From the speaker on the side of a NY State Trooper to Fishbulb)

    - "Show us your boobs!" (From everyone to Dan's girlfriend -- I'm pretty sure she had a name)

    - "Who the **** invited the Talon?" (Everyone)

    - "I heard Hubert drove his 360 into a ditch." (All asian guys who drive silver 360s must be Hubert)

    - "Did you see the factory-pink Lamborghini?"

    - "How many miles are on that 512 BB??" (4,000)

    - "Someone take a picture of that Mondial for Sam, please!"

    - "Can I have a ride in your car?" (Everytime we stopped for gas, some nasty-ass toothless redneck girl would come up to someone and ask)

    - "Richard Solomon's car would not start this morning..."

Oh, and I'm never, ever, ever, doing a run without my GPS. Ever.

    Hi guys,

just got back from a long day!

First off, I would like to thank everyone (except for the SOB eagle talon driver) for their patience, support, and advice. Thank you for waiting up for me at the gas station, and giving me advice on the paperwork. I am still pretty speachless regarding the incident, but the luckily the damage is not
    bad.
Special thanks to: 993, Viper, and Emil.

So thats about it, car is going to CC on Monday, and I am leaving for
LA on that day as well. I figure it should take a week.

Other than that, the weather was great, the food was pretty good, and
    the cars were beautiful.

    Thing I learned:

Speeding is good, but preventive driving is better especially with young punks.
    also, to get a GPS!

OK, will post more thoughts later, right now, as Brad would say:

"I'm going to make like a tree and go"

    Thanks again to everyone,
    Jon

PS.... I am pissed for not winning the Concours, with the fender bender my
car had character!! Rob I was robbed!

I just got home after being with you guys all day and then heading to dinner and my inlaws to pick up the wifey and my little boy Jack. Now Emil, can you freakin' believe that the NYS trooper that warned us decided to be sneaky and follow us towards NJ after hanging back and doing a little radar duty. He pulled me over just before the state line and said that "he warned us" and that I was doing 81mph when he pulled up behind me. Ah...bull**** maybe sir since I saw him coming for a 1/2 mile and slowed to 65mph. Anyway, I (knock on wood) talked my way out of that one and made my way home after a very good, long, tiring, invigorating day.

It was great to see you guys again and Jon, feel free to give me a ring if you have any issues with the insurance situation. While I know that must have put a damper on the day for you, you truly shrugged it off like a gentleman and you should be commended for keeping your patience. I know how pissed I was about the incident and it wasn't even my Ferrari that had the damage!

Now it's time for me to change my sons diaper...take a quick shower, and COLLAPSE! Hope you all have a great day tomorrow detailing the rides (a whole lotta bugs on the front of the 993) and I'll see you all soon...

BTW, my buddy Mike (rode Shotgun) took about 15min. of video and while it isn't the best footage I've ever seen (a lot of feet pictures from when he didn't realize the camera was on), it's pretty damn cool to relive our outing from the video footage. Damn Brad, the sounds that come out of your 360 are just insane...and that Gallardo doesn't sound too bad either going through that long tunnel on the Merit.

Thanks everyone! I had a blast today. The cars were amazing. Brad, that exhaust is sick, it's still going in my head. Jon best of luck with the car, I know it was probably so shocking you didn't know how to feel about it at first. I've got tons of pictures, I'll post some later, and I've got to get Rob the tapes.

Was great meeting all of you!

EDIT: I have around 100 pics or so, anyone want to recommend an online photo album site? i edited all the photos so plates are blurred and so on. i use snapfish normally, but that you can only view if i invite you to.

What a great day for a drive! Nice to see the old friends and meet some new ones. Jon I admired your handling of the minor mishap - you are a class act. Thanks everyone for making my old Supra feel welcome. I'll let the pix tell the rest...

and although this is easier said then done..."It's only a machine...(gulp...)...and can be repaired...the important thing is, you're ok"

Looks like it was an interesting event. I am sorry to hear that I missed it. I really regret it but duty calls on the Viper. Thanks for all the pictures.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. The white Countach is tough. I still think that the 25th anniversery Countachs look sweet. Even after all these years they still look modern.

Oh yeah, I'm feeling it alright...you can imagine being that I had the Top down all day!

Oh and as for speed traps...you're right, there weren't any. BUT, being me I got stopped just before I got home for doing 81 in a 65 on the Thruway. Didn't get a ticket, but ironic that I get stopped for so little after doing sooooo much for as long as we did on the way home. Typical...

The dotted white lines were solid the whole time. And if cops went to pull us over it would have had to be by gun point and us getting carted away :)
