The movie Rush is a biography of Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda (played by Daniel Brühl) and the 1976 crash that almost claimed his life. Mere weeks after the accident, he got behind the wheel to challenge his rival, James Hunt (played by Chris Hemsworth).

Looks like something I would be interested in. Just a footnote, if you have not seen the movie, Senna ... it is available on DVD and in my opinion one of the better documentaries about F1 in general and more specifically, the person who is arguably the best driver who ever sat behind the wheel of a race car ...

Bruhl and Hemsworth look the part. The movie was well cast, I just hope the acting is up to par. Looks like it'll be great.

When I heard Howard was doing "Apollo 13" I thought: what's the point? We all know what happens. Few care about "space" or "history". There's been plenty of documentaries on the subject. Who would see this?

But I was wrong. It's a brillant film and was big box office.

Maybe Ron has a little more magic left.

BTW: who is playing Enzo? Anyone know?

No one is listed on the IMDB credits as playing Enzo.

Opie has certainly turned into quite the good movie-maker, though... I would think this could be a good film with him at the helm.

Looks like it will be a good story and very well done. It will be interesting to see if it brings more attention to F1 in the US, as it is a sport that very few people here know anything about.

I saw on line that the release date for "Rush" will be September 20th this year in the US. Sounds like a trip to the theater is in order!

How could they have a movie about Laudi and not include Enzo in it? If that's the case... LAME.

Maybe no Enzo but Luca is a character in the film. I hear ya, it would be great to see Enzo in the film but I think at that point in the company's history (the 70's) the real force in the F1 program was Luca. So I think it would be reasonable to focus more on him than Enzo.

That said, it would be cool to have an Enzo character squeak out some lines about how Lauda needs to get his ass back in the car. :)

Exactly. To say Enzo was not involved in what happened before and after Lauda's crash is just rewritting history.

It's OK to rewrite history -- just tell us you're doing it.

For that matter, Luca should be in the film as well.
