    Has anyone seen this on their 458 Speciale? It looks a lot like I have rust on the rotors which seems very odd. This isn't from driving in the rain or washing then letting the car sit for a few days. I took this pic today after a long spirited drive.

    The brakes are glazed and squeal like a stuck pig but it that really rust?

    Never any such cleaners applied. I had the paint corrected and I use a two bucket 'No Rinse' wash method exclusively. I suppose it's possible a small amount of the 'No Rinse' got on the rotors. Crazy if the the $40K+ brake system is that sensitive to having your car washed.

    Ceramic brakes have no iron in them, so it is obviously not rust. Some kind of chemical reaction with the CCM braking medium layer, most likely. Wheel cleaner can react with CCM rotors. Best to spray it on a rag and then use it so you can control where it goes. Spraying directly on the wheel will usually put some on the rotor. There are wheel cleaners that do not react with ceramic rotors.

    Have you brakes been bedded? That usually prevents glazing since the pads undergo a change from the high heat of bedding.

    or use PS21 GEL wheel cleaner as it is safe for carbon ceramic rotors

    I did seat the brakes but they glazed during a track event. I have the Ferrari dealer and a Ferrari Challenge Race mechanic contemplating the best way to deglaze the breaks. Seems like a lot of voodoo if you ask me but I hope something works. The sound of the breaks are obnoxious.
