I thought I saw a thread on this, but can’t find it now (Yes, I searched). Anyway, the chrome exhaust tips on my 83 Mondial are in various levels of deterioration (pix below). The fix I’m looking at now, is to cutdown and spotweld, new, aftermarket tips. These are the ones you see in most auto parts stores. The one model I found (at Autozone, 3A Racing, SKU# 571160 90053) that fits OVER the rusty ones has a “rolled” end, as opposed to the stock sharp edge. The advantage of the rolled end is that it covers the old tips edge, and is a lot easier than replacing the old tips . I’m still trying to find a smaller dia, sharp edge tip, that I can replace the old ones with, if I can't live with the appearance of the rolled ones.

    Opinions, other sources?

Wow, that looks great! I wouldn't have believed it without the pictures...I like the looks of it with the rolled tip. There's no way you could fix it any easier or cheaper than what you've got there.

    Great idea.

Thats as good as you will get second to replacing the entire exhaust.

I guess I'm a bit late responding to this thread....

If you want to keep OEM style, remove the tips and send out to Chrome Plater.... DONE.

Mine are in good shape, lack some luster and this is what I've been considering.
