These tools are for RW42 3-ear knockoff spinners.

This set of tools was sold by the Stainless Steel Brake Company in the 1970s for installing and removing knockoffs without using a lead hammer. It includes a socket, notched to fit the knockoff; a beam-and-pointer torque wrench; and an extension adapter, allowing the user to apply 300+ lb-ft of torque. Was this overkill? Very possibly; the knockoffs should self-tighten in driving, assuming they’re adequately tight to start with. But this tool can make it easier to get them adequately tight (and to remove them, as it works in both directions of course) without swinging a hammer near your vulnerable wheel rim.

The set also includes a canvas storage bag.

I’m also including a Hill Engineering SOC-04 spinner socket. This tool also fits RW42 3-eared knockoffs. It has a 3/4-inch square drive socket for a breaker bar or torque wrench (as in the SSBC kit above, for example).

I modified the Hill tool by adding a sheet of high-density polyethylene on the inner face, and leather pads on the insides of the arms, to protect the finish of the knockoffs (these mods don’t interfere with the fit).
