Hi, I just had the A-Arms on my 78 308GTS Powder coated. When putting it back together I noticed that I have lost one of the round silver metal bushings that go on the knuckle-side of the A-Arm. I am located in Hollywood and would be extremely grateful if somebody could point me in a direction where I can buy one of those. Thanks very much, Helmut 323 467 6160
Try GT Car Parts in Phoenix. They can usually ship the same day if you call early. (623) 780-2200. You should have parts the next day. Good advice too. They have helped me for years. John
Is this the bushing you mean: http://ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=192250 ? p/n 111617, old number: 104398
I know it doesn't help at this point, but when I do a job like rebuild the suspension, after I disassemble an area, I like to place the parts in a re-sealable plastic bag so nothing gets lost. I use a sharpie to write on the bag for reference. IE (passenger side rear upper A-Arm assembly) I also like to use a digital camera to not only document the procedure, but also use as a reference just in case my memory goes south.
It's funny you say that, because all of the screws and parts that I took out are in ziplock bags with sharpie writing on it. This one stayed in the A-Arm for some reason and I feel it got lost in the machineshop where I had it straightened. (Some towing truck hooked into the A Arm and bent it in the past)
Helmut - The superseded part number for that spacer is 109905, and I've got a few inbound to me. PM me if you need one. -Daniel
have you tried a local machine shop. seems they could run up a spacer pretty easily and inexpensively.
I have one that I replaced because of a nick in the chrome, you can have it if you like, but I would not use it long term. A new one is in $45-50 range
Thanks everybody for the response. I am a bit calmer now to hear that I could basically just buy a new one. At first I thought that it would be pretty difficult to replace it. Bob 308, thanks very much for offering, I might come back to that should I have a problem getting one. I am new to the 308 world and even though I would think that a small nick in the chrome would most likely not make a difference, I will follow my paranoid inner voice and buy a new one. Thanks Helmut
