Supercar Saturday coming back to Glen June 6th.
Depends where you want to park. Prime spots for exotics are gone by 7:30-7:45. Ron does a good job staging the cars, but there are always more cars than spaces. I usually get there between 8:00-8:30 and they fit me in where they can. I probably won't be there this time until 9:15 and will be lucky to park in the general parking area.
Lots of cars.... 512bbi, 599, 430, 365 2+2. Numerous lambo and mclarens. An Ariel atom and Bugatti Veryon. I took my Unimog.
Nice turnout for exotics lovers. BUG, SLR 722s MCLAREN edition, TR, 365 2+2, 430 in tdf blue, beautiful 993 rs clone, some gt3s..
We had planned to make the Glen after we did the McLaren 650C test drive thing, but the Scud ran into a problem. It didn't take long for us to stop, but the tire was basically off (hard to see, but that's the magnesium rim, covered in tire parts, between those 2 red dots.) Had to get towed the last mile to LFSC. But did manage to finally drive the Mac. Stupid crazy fast above 4000rpm. And saw a LaF and a Sergio, so not a total loss. Maybe will make it next month in Bolingbrook. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I always stop to ask about cars that I never expect to see. Small displacement and all. Spent a lot of time speaking to a guy with a Swallow Doretti. At first glance it looks like a Healey but different like an Austin Healey custom. Find out that Jaguar was buying parts from Swallow and in the end they were just forced to stop doing cars. Like 250 only built. A tight club here and in Europe for sure.... One of the best cars at the show for sure....In my opinion...
