I have a build slot booked for Mrch 2013 and I am labouring through the colours and options. I think I am going to choose Rosso Scuderia and the dealer suggested Sabbia interior. I would have liked the old Ferrari tan and I was hoping someone could advise me if Cuoio is the same as the old tan. Sabbia looks more like a light beige. I have about a million other questions which I will post later.

Cuoio is a darker shade of beige.
Sabbia is a lighter shade of beige.
Beige is the classic shade of leather you normally see in most late model Ferraris and is still available.

One thing to consider is that beige, and sabbia more so, shows wear much more than darker colors.

As for me I love cuoio with Scud Red. I think it is a knock out.. extra rich looking and different. It goes great with the more orangey Scud Red and will make your interior pop.

I personally do not like Cuoio with Scuderia red. They are too close in value and too orange. Beige works better or Sabbia IMO.

Ask to see his sample case and see for yourself. Put the two next to each other and you can tell if you like it or not.

What we say is not important. It's your car. You need to decide yourself.

As has been explained here already "beige" also refered to as "tan" is different from cuoio. Sabbia is an even lighter shade than tan/beige. Here is tan and cuoio in the same interior to give you an idea of their difference. This is a tan interior with daytona seats with cuoio inserts and piping in a F430 Spider.

Sabio and Tan are "bland" compared to Cuio - Look at this interior and decide how much you want interior to stand out/ From my "old" 430. Best

Sabbia is like french vanilla in color. It's really elegant, but beware of extra care needed to keep it looking good. I would strongly consider speccing parts of the interior that see a lot of action like the steering wheel, door pulls and maybe parts of the door panel/window sill in a darker color.

One of my favorite specs is this 599 in Vinaccia over Sabbia:

If that's the direction your heading, beige with scuderia red works better than cuoio IMO. I think sabbia is a bit too soft for the 458. My personal choice with scuderia red would be black.

Enjoy the process and happy speccing!

Thanks to everyone who answered my query. The strange part is that the dealer did not even tell me beige was an option. Anyway, now that I know beige is available that's how I will be spec'ing it, with the daytona seats. Thanks again !!

It is hard to add to the above. My buddy has a beige interior w/red stitching on Scuderia red 458 and it looks great. The tip to look at actual color samples at dealer is spot on. BUT, take samples outside. Daylight will allow you to see colors more accurately. Incandescent and fluorescent lighting can alter the color of what you are looking at.

I saw a sabbia interior on a Rossa corsa 430 spider. It looked like khaki to me. Just not as rich as beige or cuoio.

But as always, how you see color is ALL that matters.

Beige interior looks best with Scuderia Red IMO.

    Hi, first of all congratulations!
In my opinion what defines interior color for a car is the "concept" you are looking for, which basically goes down to 2 options: "classy / elegant" or "sporty".
With this clear in your head it comes a little more easier to narrow down the shade you are looking for.
For me beige is on the "classy" side of the espectrum where sabbia has the lead. Cuoio is neutral for my taste. And black is on the sporty side.
Matched with rosso scuderia, let me suggest you beige instead of sabbia, unless you want to really contrast with elegance the racy stance of the 458.
    Cheers!

I agree with beige with Scuderia red but for other colors I do prefer cuio. Congrats on getting a build slot. Now the long wait begins.
