I have been kicking around the idea, after reading the "annual service get together" thread in the 348/355 section, to have a DIY service day at my pad. I have the majority of the tools to complete most service related issues and a BendPak mid rise scissor lift. (low ceiling heights).

My garage isn't the largest but will work, we live in a court with ample parking and to top it off my wife is encouraging this event.

Would having a DIY service day/weekend be of any interest to Sacramento area owners?

I'd come just to offer up my meager sense of humor, and offer my hands, as long as you can direct me on what I can help with. :)

Thanks for the replies. If we get a few more interested parties I will look into a feasible date.

What I am really looking for is a few more guys to repair my pesky cam seal leak. :) I kid, I kid.

I figured we could have a guy run the BBQ and we could at minimum do a few oil changes.

This is actually a great idea. We do this quite a bit in the car communities I am involved with as well. It is definitely a great way to learn about cars, meet some great people with similar interests, and have a great time.

Definitely follow up with some pics. :)

I think that would be a fun idea. I have to replace the front pads on my F430. An easy job but would be fun.

I also would love to host something like this at some point! I have a four post lift and very high ceilings. Great for oil changes and engine/drivetrain work. Not so good for taking off the rims!

    I'm in!

If those of you who are interested can give me some dates that work I would appreciate it. That way we can find a date that works for all.

After completing our taxes and conferring with the "boss" how does Saturday May 12th work for those that are interested? Please reply if interested as I would like to get a head count, if possible, for food/drink.

I just received a call from a local f-chatter that there is an event at Laguna Seca on May 12th that he will be attending and suggested a different date.

Let's go with the May 19th. If interested send me a PM and I will give you my address.

    Nate and JM3,

I sent you a PM with my address. We have 5 people thus far and I am thinking around a 10am start as I don't want to wake the neighbors. Hopefully others will join to, at minimum, grab some food and meet some other f-chatters.

Hey Dan. Planning on being there next weekend. Is there anything I can bring? Planning on both tranny and oil change for that shifter rod seal replacement. I figure I need to bring a oil container....not sure it would fit so I could drop it by earlier or something.

    Hi John,

Glad to hear you can make it. If you want to drop off something next week just pick a day and stop by after 4pm or so. It is a BYOP (bring your own parts) event. You know where I live.

I am glad you bumped this thread. If anyone else is interested in stopping by to change fluids, plugs, clean the undercarriage or whatever let me know. I plan on buying some hotdogs and burgers for grilling but would like to get a head count. It will be nice to meet some F-chatters I have not yet had the opportunity to meet.

If interested, PM me and I will give you my address.

I will be there at 9 sharp. I probably can't stay too long, have family stuff all day (including before 9:00), but I have more tools than Jeff Spicoli's dad, so if you need anything let me know.

See you at 9. I think I am okay with tools but thanks for the offer unless someone is planning an engine out service. :)

Thanks Dan for having the DIY service. It was great just hanging out. I didn't need anything for my 360 at this time. Love your lift. Great meeting John and good to see Jay again.

No problem Nate it was nice to meet you and Jay. I am glad you could come and show off your beautiful 360 and Jay's 355 . I thinking of doing this on an annual basis if there are enough interested parties.
