Sad Day?

I thought I'd just keep the car forever as I prefer a stick shift and the car was cosmetically mint. If I added up every last invoice over the past almost 11 years of ownership I probably spent something like $60K on it including the sound system and it only had 35,000kms/21,700 miles.

I think the 355 is not only one of the best looking Ferrari's of all time but one of the best looking cars of all time and it sounded awesome. That is where I end my love for them though. I do think that it was an absolute hunk of crap and the engineer who thought it was alright to build a car that the timing belt needs replacing every three years even if it is not driven should go get a job at a drive through or something that he/she is capable of.

Now what? I am building a new house and am going to wait until after it is completed before buying a new sports car. I really don't like anything as there is a pretty limited number of cars that offer a stick shift. I hear how much better a 458 is than previous models and I absolutely love them except for the paddles. I think a 430 is a great car but I really want a new car.

You should consider a classic ferrari. The running costs are lower than a newer one as they are easier to service and the value of the car is rising or at the very least flat.

The problem with that is to use it as a daily driver, a classic will run into the parts unobtanium problem at some point. Like Mondial (which aren't even old enough to be considered a classic) fog light lenses etc... Plus, they aren't all that comfortable as a DD in this day and age.

A 355 (or any Ferrari really) doesn't belong in stop-n-go Socal traffic. And boy does it get old quick with a stick.
