Just sold my 308 today. Seems kinda sad to see it driving off. Someone local though. Hopefully he will be active in the FOC or FCA.

:( Sorry, sort of like losing an old friend. That is part of why I have become an accumulator. :D

Somehow I'm not surprised. The two cars are similar enough in their feel and look yet one has almost twice the power. It seems to be a natural progression.

    @Dr.T348,

I know your feelings very well.
I sold my `85 308 GTSi QV when I bought my Testarossa and I still miss him and regret it! I have called the new owner several times and asked him to repurchase - sadly no! It was the time I haven`had enough space/garage to store a second toy so I sold it - today I have 3 garages and still one is empty and waiting for the lost son.

Yes, hopefully the new owner will join in with us on Drives and such this Year! That would be cool. And, you'd get to see your old baby once in awhile.

Just had a phone call from an Italian Gentleman form Long Island....
who flew in over the weekend to Chicago to see our red lady.....
our 328GTS , our pride and joy....
and bought her straight off the floor.....

When I put down the phone, I had tears roling down my face,
remembering the drops of sweat, polishing, pampering, driving and lover her..

Sorry to see her go, but we are also relocating back to Germany and I think
that those won't be the last tears as we have to part from sooo many friends and fond memories we made here !!!!

Well, it is one less worry. I know the drill: Had to sell my beloved cars and motorcycle when I moved to the US. It happened so fast I had barely time for getting melancholic. And you guys already have her successor in the container. Looking outside right now that car makes a lot more sense.

BTW: Saw an IL plate: "GP RNMS" and was thinking of the "Grand Prix Rennmaus" :) It was even on a German car...

I think that this is the saddest post that I have ever read.

I will pray for the periodical son to return

I would have also grinned, to see a German car with such Nr Plate.
I'm still faithful to my "SCHUMI 1" plates, which even have a genuine signature of him in red...

and the new addition got "THATS IT"..

PS: We seem to keep our plates and move them around as the inventory changes!!

    In Germany definitely !!
I'm apparently allowed to drive the car, (since I will take back) for one year on US Plates!!
I haven't had any problems here, since the plate is behind a acrylic frame and cover. I've once been asked if SCHUMI is my surname..
Back in 2000 when I applied for the number, I was surprised that all of the "Schumi" plates where still available.
PS: 2000 Schumi won (hence Schumi 1) his first Ferrari Championship!

And you can still use your US license. So if you get caught speeding in the first year, just talk to the officer in English and give them your IL address. No Flensburger Punkte for one year!
