That was horrifying to watch. Brought back memories from 1996 when I was renting a lakeside home. Two of my high school friends arrived unannounced on a Sunday late afternoon. They decided to take our fishing boat for a spin, both "hung moons" (dropped their drawers for a laugh) and fell off the boat. One of the guys was brought back to life in the ER and the other guy basically swam to shore. The boat continued to travel for four miles and beached itself on the far side of the lake....the prop could have killed a swimmer!! Yeah....drowning is ugly....so is gross intoxication.

I'd hate to be standing that close to those spinning blades. I guess if the shaft was broken that saved them from being shredded?

The pilot was diverting due to vibration, then decided against it when the vibration stopped? I'm not a pilot, so I don't really know; even if the vibration went away, wouldn't you continue to get the thing on the ground again if the vibration was such you thought you should in the first place?

At least it came down with the rotor. Super Puma's like to liberate the rotor in a starkly horrible fashion.
