Every one in the FoA family is most sad to report the passing or our friend and mentor, Ed Wettach. Ed passed away over the weekend after a hard fought battle with MDS. His family is doing well given the difficult circumstances and all of us miss him dearly. There are no changes in the works for Ferrari Maserati of Atlanta and it is our intent to continue the tradition he created by continuing to do business here as he would have wanted us to. His obit can be found on Legacy.com under Edward Wettach lll. The family and staff appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Hi Will, thanks for posting this.

I took the liberty to repost it in the Florida section where Ed had many friends
    as well.

We're losing too many of the nice guys lately.

The saddest news, my friend. Everyone who knew Ed, is lessened by his passing. The world shines a bit less brightly now. May he rest in peace, and in the warmth he brought to all of us.

I'll share with everyone a story about Ed ... Will, i'm not sure if i ever told you.

The very FIRST time (of many) that I visited Ed at the dealership in Atlanta was a couple years ago. Ed is a bit older than me (but not by much!). We spent a great afternoon together, getting acquainted over lunch, talking about Ferraris and life in general. As I'm leaving for the return flight to Austin that evening, Ed says "Jeff, please text me from Austin so that i know you got home safely." The very FIRST time we met ...

    That's who Ed Wettach was.

    'nuff said

Edward Wettach Obituary: View Edward Wettach's Obituary by Clarion Ledger

Ed was always at the Roebling Road events that he sponsored, and was every bit the enthusiast as well. I asked him once what his favorite car was to drive on the track and he responded the 348 Competizone, which surprised me somewhat as he had some many great cars to choose from. Looking at these brought back fond memories and a few tears. The sadness now is because of the happiness then...Godspeed....

Wow - sorry to hear that. Did not even know Ed was sick. Met Ed early 90's at his home in Jackson, MS where he was nice enough to show me his 275 collection. RIP.

The Ferrari world is at a loss. But the world in general is at a loss. Ed was a rare man, who had so much, did so much but asked for so little in return.

I miss my friend Ed, and wish all good thoughts to Elenor and his family. Words cant express the sense of loss.

for those able to make it to EuroFest in Ridgeland, MS this weekend, the show will be dedicated to Ed and they will present an award on Saturday afternoon (the award will be an annual award from here on out) called The Ed Wettach "Love of the Automobile" Award.

He is/was a very large part of helping Mike Marsh get EuroFest off the ground and make it what it has become. As most of you know FOA always brought 4 cars, and Ed usually showed up in something else fun to look at (a couple I recall was a 458 Italia right after release, and last year a Vanquish)

RIP and well wishes to all of his friends and family.
