we have all been following your accident and subsequent progress. we are sad to see the boxer go but as said before, we are glad you are still here with us.

it will be sad to remove yuor car from the registry. may we ask, is it all gone or are there spares to be removed? in either case...i hope you will find another equally as nice as boxers are part of your identity ron...

keep checking in with us ron.

    best,

    peter

I made a brief note on another thread....

Buy Franklin Parker's and hire him to sue the guy who skidded into you and set you on fire!!!!

    this actually makes sense.

i also suspect there may be insurance issues to contend with as it relates to stated value. these darn cars have gone on a tear in rise in value so i suspect ron may run into resistance.

a very good idea tex. frank, why don't you reach out to ron...he may need your advocacy.

Glad you are doing well. It is really a sad thing that such a beautiful car is gone, but it's great that you are still with us to lend your advice and experiences with you fellow Boxer owners. I look forward to seeing your next lowered Boxer. Take care and get well soon.

I am sure someone will restore this car, very few Boxers have been parted out it just doesn't happen they are worth fixing to the right people, someone recently paid $50k for a shell of a 365BB needing everything as this car will but it can be done, the insurance co will total it obviously.

Cheer up Ron,you are in good shape heath wise, as I recall you got a good deal on your car when you bought it, though they have gone up since then hopefully all will be compensated well for the car itself in todays values, clearly the bad guy is at fault here.

Time to start shopping for another BB and you have a chance to get one thats nicer, may be a good opportunity to get a carb BB as well

Ron, I don't know you, but I wanted to give you my condolensces on your loss and to wish you a speedy recovery. A car can and (my guess) will be replaced. Your life and body parts can't. Be well, heal fast. You are in my thoughts.

Tifosiron, well hey - - posting ANYTHING on here is nothing short of a miracle!

Your creator must think you had a couple of things left to do! Man, what a gift and a half. You get to have the real thoughts - not the fanciful musings of a wandering mind - of "why not me, why not then." Though the burns don't feel like much of a party favor and the gauze is a bizarre wrapping paper, they're a gift I'm telling you.

I'd imagine by now you've kissed off the material loss. So what? You get to go shopping! And for the "loss" you still have a memory, a story, a remember when, a bunch of dadgum photos, a bunch of emails from 'connected strangers' like me and half this board wishing you well, and a new... a new.... whatever you like. And that will be lovely and replaceable all the same.

Glad to see your contributions and we'll await the next, whenever that is.

Sure, if you tell us what bits are left, we'll circle like the parts-seeking gulls we are, but not a shred of delight in the circumstances. We're not macabre, just looking for a hopeful aid in the resurrection of other, equally replaceable things. You know when that time is right, and if never, so be it. That's okay too.

Please do what your therapist says, keep the salve spread, quit looking at your hands as ghastly, but as marvels, the skin'll get better. Amazing to watch, really.

Have a great recovery! Who knows, you may emerge smarter! (Hey, we can hope, right!?!) Take care, and we mean it!

Ron, it’s great to see you back on, however difficult that may be right now, and your efforts are truly appreciated.
Sorry your beautiful car is gone.
But at least you’re here, and you’ll heal. Should you decide on another Boxer you know there are a ton of guys here that will be looking for you. If you decide on something else, that would be understandable.
Just concentrate on healing up for now!
    Best wishes, John
