Saints are 2-0 on the road with their home opener(and grand reopening of the Superdome) coming up on Monday night against the Falcons(2-0)! Pregame begins around 3pm with performers such as Irma Thomas, Allen Toussant, Rebirth Brass Band, Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, and U2 All sorts of ativities are planned to go on outside and inside the Dome. Monday night football on steroids! I have the distinct feeling that the noise level in the Superdome for this game will surpass any level ever reached there. Louder than any Superbowl or NCAA championship game. And if the Saints win its going to spontaneously combust into a raging conflagration of a party with a 2nd line march to the French Quarter for celebration. Side note: Falcons just enacted former Saint favorite MORTEN ANDERSON, 46, to be their kicker! Kinda neat if you ask me Got my season tix ready and I can't wait! Who else is going to join in the fun? Who dat?
Hey John, My mother has season ticket on the 20 on home side, she says there is tons of hype for this game and will be a VERY tearful opening. Hope you guys enjoy wish I could be there for it. Wade
Tune into ESPN on Monday night, their coverage is supposed to be pretty decent! The Saints season tickets, as of a couple of days ago, are completely sold out! Also, the Superdome gave out a whopping 500 press passes to this game(1 even going to Al-Jazeera) Benson made a plea to city businesses to let their employees out of work early on Monday to help create a Mardi Gras style atmosphere of Black and Gold all over the grounds of the Superdome. I can't wait!
My wife and are I are flying down for the game, we get in Saturday and leave Tuesday, she's a huge Saints fan, tickets were a Mother's day gift from me, i hope they smoke the Falcons
It's a first- i can't afford a scalp Saints ticket. I've gone to some games for $5. Less then a movie.
Hell, I've gone to games for free with free parking and still felt ripped off. I'll never get that 3 hours of my life back. Ya'll have fun I've wasted enough time, money and energy on the Saints.
Salute to the Spirit of New Orleans....glad to hear of this! Dave328 call me and let us know what is going on!
!!!!!SAINTS WIN SAINTS WIN SAINTS WIN!!!!! 23-3 For those who were in the dome to hear the eruption 1:30 into the game when the Saints blocked the Falcon's punt and turned it into a Defensive TD then you know how loud it was! The walk from the Superdome back down to the French Quarter was incredible! Kudos to the great ATL fans who came down for the game, the usual team nonsense was put aside and genuine respect was shown by both sides. A true class act! Less F-chat, more celebration!
Damn what a game, 1st half was incredible, second a little slower but holding Atl to 3 points and blocking Morten Andersons field goal was da chit. Whooaaaaaa Can't wait till next week here in Carolina. Wade
What impressed me most (and I watched the entire game I can't tell you when the last time I did that was) was that they played all 60 minutes and they played with enthusiasm on offense, defense and special teams. I haven't seen a Saints defense swarm to the ball like that since the dome patrol days. The also looked like they wanted to be there and wanted to be on the team with eachother when was the last time you could say that about the Saints?
Man you are so right, the days of Sam Mills, Vaughn Johnson (who owns two Ferraris) Ricky Jackson man those guys knew how to hit and stay after that ball. eye on the prize we need a cool name for the new guys if they keep this up Wade
I was walking to the dome and I seen a red 430 with a temp tag cruising in front of the dome, the guy didn't seem like he knew how to drive it as he kept riding the clutch, beautiful car though!
+1! the saints had a great game, and it's nice that the NFL showed some respect in giving the Saints their home opener on monday night, pretty awesome!
