This might be the best description of Ferrari's current drivers that I have read on this forum. Well done.

This official move might just be a safety net for Sainz, while he's waiting to see how things turn out at RB and Mercedes.

It was a very good ridance from Ferrari, Carlos was never a team player, unlike Charles, his latest stunt at Spa when he refused to hold Hamilton when requested to do so by Adami and promptly entered the pits should have been dealt by Vasseur on a much harsher way, he will have a tough life near Albon whom i tink is a better driver.

Well, yes, but that is better than a sabbatical year. Riccardo did better, having a sabbatical, but paid by McLaren.

If the difference in pay is closer, which probably was (if there was any!), I'm sure Sainz wanted to be driver #1 and he was never be #1 at Mercedes, I'm afraid.
I could see clashes (not literally, or maybe?) with Russell straight-away. And in RB of course, he was never be #1 either, so that doesn't appeal to him.
In Ferrari he was supposed to be on par with Charles and that is not the case, now in sure #2 positions, money isn't everything.

If it's just one year, why not getting the big bucks?

What a circus. Sainz in a Williams, and you have complete clownshoes like Stroll on the grid.

Let's just put it this way, Max, Lewis, Russell, Norris, Piastri, Leclerc, Alonso have a better shot at losing their seat than Lance Stroll ever will.

I was expecting him to sign for a team that can fight for podium finishes and with Williams I am not sure if he would be able to do it in 2025.

I don’t know why people can’t get past that. F1 is not a meritocracy, as much some would wish it to be. Besides, the car is now more important than the driver. And if Alonso can’t make the car work, just about nobody else could.

Literally the truth annoys them. The usual replies lately are just jealousy over his fathers sweatshop empire money!
