Well, I know this is probably about as far off topic you could get....nonetheless, I know there are some other docs out there...I was hoping one of you guys could give me some advice on how to negotiate a lucrative yet fair financial package for a job...I'm almost a decade out from finishing my radiology residency...I'm leaving my current group in hopes of finding a more lucrative position elsewhere...I know I'll be starting over but I'm thinking long term...any radiologist out there care to chime in??

Doc's salries aren't typically "negotiated." You are paid based on rvu's, a percent collections, and very very rarely based on hours.

Your pay as a radiologist will be primarily determined based by the area where you practice.

Here, in Wisconsin, most of the rads at our hospital work until 2pm, are hardly around on weekends, almost unreachable at night...and make $600,000.

If you were in Chicago, cut that number in half.

You should also know, that very few employers will ever tell you what you will make. They just mention a floor level income.

    Good luck.
