In May of this year, the first F40 that was brought to the states was sold by it's original owner. It had about 600 miles on it, and was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT & PRISTINE!!!!!!! Has anyone seen it? It went to WWOC?

Ummmm, do you know how much work it would take to restore this unused example to operational????

I've seen an F40 attempted to start with stale fuel, did about $5K damage to the car.........

You have to be careful to make sure it's up to spec, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun with it.

WCH just bought one with 222 miles on it. Will, can you comment upon the fixes you needed to get done to ensure that there were no issues with the car having laid around for so long?

A lot of work was done, the list is very long, everything you'd expect; as an example: two injectors replaced, all serviced; all belts replaced; fuel tank drained; gear oil; brake fluid; brake hoses; coolant; a/c refrigerant; all the filters; countless rings, mounts, seals, washers and gaskets; water pump work; the suspension recall; and so on.

So far, so good, though I've been quite busy and have only put about 150 miles on the car so far.

    Worth ... every ... penny. ;)

Yes, with a bit more replacement of items than I'd imagine the typical 30k entails. I wonder - are there any 30k F40s? FoW's owner has about 16k miles on his car, primarily track miles. The service on my car was performed by Tony at Algar, before I purchased it, and then the car was gone through by Richard at FoW.

No doubt the conversion of a car from storage to street is a bit risky, especially after 14 years. I'm told the car was stored in a climate controlled environment - that appears to have been the case as, for example, the rubber is in perfect condition. Though I'm a driver, rather than a displayer (what's the opposite of a driver?), I wanted as new a car as I could find, so I took the risk.
