I have an old 308 sales brochure that I was going to put on Ebay, but after looking all over the thing, I couldn't see any Year mentioned. Nothing in the specs, no copyright indication, very strange. So is there a way that someone could tell? By the photos? Thanks.

Yep... Take a 640x480 digital picture of it, and post it in this thread. When you reply, scroll down past the "Submit Reply" and "Preview Post" buttons, and you'll see one that says, "Manage Attachments." That's the one you want to insert pictures.

    Best of luck,

    Aaron

*Really*? I honestly had no idea... I guess it's been a while since I subscribed, and I just took for granted the features a subscription allows. Sounds like it's time to re-up!

Hey Aaron, I can take some pics. Theres a lot of pages to it, are there any pages in particular that would help ID it? Will that small of a size pic be sufficient to see well enough?

Just the cover should be enough - alternatively get your magnifying glass out and look for the print number which should include the printers name, the quantity printed and a number like 147/77 - usually somewhere on or in the back cover - or identify the model of 308 (eg GT4 / or GTS/GTB and whether carb or injection) - after all that it might make 20 or 30 bucks

Hi, those are the same #s on the back of this one. It also says Progetto e stampa ARBE (Mo) Foto Parenti e Ganzeria. The cover just says 308 GTB, 308 GTS & a horse to the right. For fuel system, the specs list 4 twin choke Weber carbs type 40 DCNF. So knowing that, what year is this for? Thanks.

This brochure was used from the introduction of the GTS model in 1977 until the GTBi/GTSi model in 1980. Popular brochure with many printed. You should also see a number like 6M/11/79 or 5M/11/80 near where you've found the other information. These designate the number printed (6000 or 5000 respectively) and the month and year this batch was printed.

    Regards, Kerry

PS, for those not familiar with Ferrari literature, the 147/77 number designates the 147th numbered item of literature published by Ferrari since they started the numbering scheme in 1965. The 77 is the year of original publication. The current numbers are in the 24xx/06 range with about 200 new items being published each year.

Hey Kerry, thanks. Wow, that's a lot of good info. It seems like they got a lot of mileage out of this brochure, using for 3 years! I didn't see those other #s, but I'll check again. At any rate, I guess this brochure isn't very valuable or desireable, but I'm sure someone might want it.

Actually not many paperwork changes in the series from 1976 thru 1977..just an insert or so for the US versions..

78 -79 were similar cars but with catalytic convertors, slower and more prone to burst into flames...
