Not a month goes by without another voice wondering why Massa is still with Ferrari: http://www.motorsport-aktuell.com/automobil/salo-analysiert-das-starterfeld-warum-massa-4417917.html Salo had many interesting things to say: - about Massa "I don't believe Massa will be allowed to stay with Ferrari beyond this season. I'm surprised that they even have him this year." - about the new Ferrari "anything but good, very unstable in the turns" - about Kimi "Kimi will be clearly faster than Grosjean. They only hired Grosjean, because Boullier is his manager." I've met Salo and like him a lot. The man has class beyond most drivers in F1: He sacrificed the only GP victory of his life for team orders. Think about that for a moment.
I hope Massa proves everyone wrong this year and leaves F1 with his career and ability as a driver firmly intact. I hope he has a kicka$$ early season and announces he will retire at the end of the season. Redbull will blow up in 2012. Team tensions will force seb to join Ferrari in 2013 and Fernando will take the title in 2012.
I was very unhappy with that 'team order' aswell but as Aircon asked "When did he have a drive of it?"
+1 Wow! There is another Phil fan out there! *Thankyou* FBB! Another +1 Bold predictions indeed!...... I can go with that... Cheers, Ian
+1 but i suspect the decision has been made. Massa will have to have a world ending season to stay, but I think this is his last with Ferrari. I too am a fan of course.
AND he helped his team AND his teammate. It is easy to gift a victory if you had many already. It is an entirely different and much bigger thing if this would have been your only time.
I am a Massa fan also but we know results are all that matters so on that note maybe this years chassis will suit him more and we will get back some of that old fire (which I believe is still there). Yet then again there is no telling what Ferrari thinks or has already decided about his future with the team.
There are a lot of us out here but we are all tired of the others harping on and on and keep to ourselves. Forza Felipe and Ferrari! Oh, and best wishes to the Scuderia's other driver...
I'm a Massa fan as well, but I do fear that his accident and poor showings are not good for his career. He has it all to play for this year, and if the car is a dog, he's out at the end. - My prediction. The perception is he has lost the edge - and who can blame you when you cheated death... especially in todays F-1 where people walk away from accidents...
Even if the car is great I doubt he'll do much with it. Either way he'll be gone. About time. Lauda was given the last rites and came back to win another title. Then again, he had the talent to win the WDC before his accident. Massa never had that kind of talent to begin with.
