Dang it! They salted the roads around here after a recent 6 inch snow. So now all the roads are varying degrees of white. How long does it take the salt to be all gone? I AM NOT taking the Dino out on any road that has any salt! But.... I'm really getting itchy....
After winter here I wait a month and there has to be a few good rains before I take out my cars. Any salt, even if you can't see it will eat away at a car.
No kidding. My 94 LeSabre, from northern Ohio, rusted through the exhaust pipe ahead of the catalytic converter and it sounded like Nascar going down the highway. The liquid de-icer the highway department puts down eats chrome so I can't win with this vehicle.
I agree you need a few good down pours to dilute the Chlorides on the road. In many places they use a Choloride Slurry, this crap is bad news. This slurry when wet gets into EVERY crevice and then dries. I would take the car to a NO touch wash with an undercarriage wash it the roads get wet on you in the early spring. Cheers, GREG
