That's right, since we are on Ferrarichat, and this is after all a Ferrari centered site with various other interest including aviation, you may want to know about this if you are planning to go to EAA Airventure at Oshkosh.

The 50th Anniversary of the Ferrari Club of America will be taking place just 48 miles distance from Oshkosh at Road America and Elkhart Lake. Note the website and schedule here: Ferrari Club of America 2013 International Meet.

Some of the fun activities include a rally, concours, and three full days of track activities. KSBM Sheboygan is only about 9 miles from RA, and many of our members will be flying in to take part in our event.

The track and concours will be open to FCA members, and I think spectators can attend as well. During the concours we will attempt a North American and perhaps a world record for the most Ferraris on a closed course. I know that is a tall order as 964 Ferraris where on track at Silverstone. That being said invitations are suppose to go out from dealers to customers in five surrounding states.

I attended in 2009, and drove this incredible track in my car and Julie's (Coach I) F40. If you can make it, but don't have a car there, bring a helmet, and we'll see what we can do about getting around the track. It's not far, and well worth the effort to come over. Same for EAA, as we were so fortunate that in 2009 we made our first trip to OshKosh!

    Juan,
I will be at EAA Thursday-Saturday and am thinking about heading over the Elkhart Lake on Sunday for part of the day.

Do you know if Austin is going to be at EAA this year showing off X-Plane?

    Ken

Hey, good to hear you'll be there. He's not flying the Evolutoin, but has a L35 from CAE to SBM and I think he said he would be at Oshkosh for one day. He may have his display booths going however, and he's working on some very cool "auto land" soft ware The VP-400 ?Seeker? Avionics | X-Plane.com that I am sure will be displayed.

Plus he has it now for the Ipad. I've flown some beta testing with him and it is really cool. Neat guy. We've got 8 cars going up including Julies F40, his Scud, another Scud, 330 Pan America, 458s, 612 etc, so try to get over. Sundays is the last track day so some will not run that third day. I think we are 48 miles from Oshkosh, so not far. Saturday would be better for track activities. You cannot miss Austin, tall red head, and look for us in the yellow 348 Challenge and F40.

Thanks Juan. I have tickets for EAA on Thursday, Friday and Saturday so Sunday is really the only day I can make it over to Elkhart Lake. I know Austin well. We went to college together and actually flew together to make a video for our college flying club.

Austin is cool and very funny, and he loves to play with his rocketry! Seems he's been trying to create a model for space shuttle replacement. He actually has a shuttle he made that goes on it, and it glides back to him by remote control and GPS guidance. Kind of cool. Try him at his email, and I'm sure he'll take you for ride on Sunday in his Scud. The track is just one word-Mega.
