Racing Sportscars have a race at San Giusti in 1950 which Franco Cornacchia won in his 166MM. They also make reference to a San Giusti on 4.9.49 so I assume it was held in September '50 but can find no record of it anywhere. Does anyone know any more?

The correct name is San Giusto ( not San Giusti) or better the Trieste circuit or San Giusto circuit, in the north/east of Italy.
In the year 1949, served as an interconnection between the various editions of the TRIESTE-OPICINA until 1948 and the subsequent editions of the famous hillclimb from 1950 onwards. In fact, its peculiarity is that its race track incorporated the high-altitude part of the traditional city uphill race.

This is Cornacchia's car in that race.

Thanks for your reply. Thats crazy that a track could use part of a hillclimb! Trieste-Opicina is a well known HC, amazing that in the 50s and 60s the more important hillclimbs being as important as any street race of the time
