hi guys, I'm considering buying this f430 with known issues (owner is pretty upfront with the problems). It's noisy with knocking sounds especially when turning or over rough surface, and video of PPI shows the suspect places/parts. Are these replacement parts very expensive?

Price seems to reflect amount of work that needs to be done, but I'd appreciate a sanity check from you guys since I've never owned a F430 (nor 360) before. I had a 308GT4 previously and did most work myself.

Am I crazy to consider buying this car? Or do you think it's a do-able thing if I'm committed? All feedback and advice is deeply appreciated. Thanks!

ps. Tried uploading here but video too large, so I uploaded on youtube :

These appear to be pretty standard suspension parts that need replacing, which on a now 20 year old car is not unusual. I did these things on my Diablo after I bought it, came to just under $10k (adjusting for time and inflation). So what did the guy that did the PPI tell you on replacement cost? That is what you pay these guys for....

No, they didn't say how much to fix them. Just that I had to deal with these degraded parts which were the cause of all that noisy racket. I agree it's probably time to replace all that for age of this car. Wanted to just do a quick sanity check that I'm not getting myself into a very bad situation with runaway costs on these type of issues. Thanks for chiming in!

I think the main concern would be whether or not these are signs of a neglected or misused vehicle. What you've shown is not terrible, several posts here on how to do those items, and they are doable for someone with skills, experience and tools, but if those are only the beginning, you could be in for a rough and potentially expensive ride.

Everything else checked out ok? they do an SD3 computer scan?

Does the price of the vehicle make sense for a car in this condition? I paid less for mine as I knew it had issues, which I rectified so in the end, I think it was ok. Had I paid premium prices, I would have spent more than I should've.

Yes, the car sat for a long time mostly undriven, averaging 500-600 miles per year for last few years. I don't think car was abused, more like neglected as you've mentioned. Things dried out I suppose. Engine and transmission sounded solid with yearly service, and computer scan showed nothing nasty. Will take another closer look with more knowledgeable buddy before deciding. I think pricing can be negotiated to build enough buffer for me to restore. Thanks for replying.

How many miles are on the car?

I bought a 2009 F430 about four years ago, with 12,800 miles and had to do the little things that happen to them at 12 years old. No suspension work yet though. I did have to redo the leather on the dash and change the plastic defroster vents to metal, fix the wobbly mirrors, etc. Those are all common issues.

Suspension parts are not that big of a deal, but I have no idea of the mileage or what you are paying for the car. Without knowing more, I'm loathe to give an opinion.
