I'm wondering what Santa Barbara or close owners use for Ferrari service. I like what I hear about Eugenio's service in Rancho Cucamonga(I've spoken with him a few times and he's serviced my current 328-prior to ownership). But, what about routine service or problems-Eugenio's may not be an option or scheduling may be an issue. Bianchi Motors or AA Motors may be the only options but I'm wondering is they have been used at all locally. A new guy in Chatsworth has been mentioned here, also, Auto Gallery and Monoco Motors are options, probably others as well. I'm considering a new exhaust/cat conv. and also will need oil change/etc. soon, wondering what options I have.

I live in Wisconsin but have a home in Santa Barbara that I will be retiring to in 3 years. Is there a strong Ferrari club in SB? I see Ferraris when I am there but there must be a fair amount of them,--Hope Ranch, Montecito etc. Are there club events etc? A friend of mine had a 355 and now a Maserati and he said he used to go to Bianchi but that he retired and someone took over his business.

I know of on 2 246's, a mondial coupe and a testarossa. Saw a white 308 Friday that I'd never seen. I figure there has to be a few more as well but I have not heard of anything organized with the owners in town. I've inquired before but didn't get a lot of response so I don't think there are many Fchatters here in Santa Barbara. There are a few in Ventura, though.

There are probably about 100 Ferraris in Santa Barbara. Most do not drive them often enough. I take mine to Eugenio (for big jobs) or to Auto Gallery.

Probably well over a hundred in and around Santa Barbara but they are hardly driven. Pity. Try Seth Hatfield at Mastercraft Motors. This is Jack Bianchi's old operation and Seth will work on Ferraris. Not a lot of experience yet but he knows when he is over his head, and is willing to learn. Lots of experience with German performance cars and runs a clean shop. Good for routine maintenance. Been there one year now. Worked on my Dino.

Thanks all. I plan on having Eugenio do all major work but it's just not possible for routine maint. or problems. Actually considering some muffler/cat replacement work, might do myself or possibly have someone do it. John, the local guy you mentioned I would assume could handle that no problem. John, is your car completed yet?

I'm planning some tire work in the very near future, what's a good shop in town to trust for the job? I've gone to J's tire Milpas/De La Guerra for other cars but he's getting sick of mounting/balancing without a sale on the tire and won't deal enough to make tire rack purchase unnecessary. I'm repainting my wheels and replacing the centers and the stems so I want someone good that appreciates the work I'll have done.

Engine was back in a year ago. Have put wonderful 5,000 miles on it and only used 1 quart of oil. Strong. Repainted same color just before Christmas. Car is better than I got it 21 years ago. Dinos make great daily drivers. Right at 190,000 miles now. You can get it done in Santa Barbara. Just takes a little ingenuity and persistance.

Stunning John! I've always been in love with the 246. They've just gotten to be too expensive for me right now, otherwise I would have seriously considered one. I admire you for driving the car so much. I see a red 246(maybe 206) GTS go up and down my street on occasion but I'm suprised with all the driving you do in yours I haven't seen yours.

Did you do the paint locally, if I may ask? Looks fantastic.

"Will work on Ferrari's, not a lot of experience, willing to learn" Seth may be a nice guy however, based on your comments, not very encouraging.

Swing by HP Autowerks, 515 Fig, I'm sure Peter or Hsi will be able to help you out. Although trained as a Master Mercedes tech, he's about as good as they come -both as a friend as well as a mechanic.

Saw a red Lusso Sunday afternoon at the Corvette shop in Carpinteria. I'd go with anybody that Jack Bianchi had in his shop.

That's funny, I was just having a conversation with someone that takes his MBZ there that also recommended the shop. He mentioned Peter Van Wingerden as one of the mechanics/Owner? and another from the old Cutter dealership. I wonder if they've seen in Ferrari's in the shop. I'd trust a good european car mechanic for simple tasks but I just don't know about anything beyond that. Maybe if I were a more effective mechanic myself but not with my somewhat limited knowledge. Thanks for your post, kind of a coincidence you bring up that shop!
