    Nice work!
We are more or less doing the same things... Except I had to make a brand new loom -too many bad wires. Gave up chasing black corrosion up the harness!
Good you were mostly able to save yours.

Thanks to all you guys for the kind comments to my work! Andrew, I use an acid based solder fluid called "VM Zinn 7" (Plumbers solder product) to remove any discoloration (Slight corrosion) from the copper cables. It removes the discoloration immediately and you can then neutralize with water and crimp or solder whatever you like.

    Best regards Peter

Overhauling the heater valve: As seen on the pictures the heater valve was completely blocked with slops and heavily corroded in the upper chamber hose studs. I bought a replica heater valve from Autoricambi d'Epoca and cannibalized the upper valve chamber and the valve membrane.....all components fitted perfectly together and I was left with a close to original valve.

Finally got the car back from paint. It has been a long proces of nearly 10 weeks, but it has been worth waiting for. The spare time have given me a pleasant opportunity to get some of all the parts sorted, not least the electrical stuff and the remaining chrome work. I am very pleased with the paint job, especially when I take the pre-condition of the car into consideration. The blocking and sanding process has been extensive and I have no count for how many times it has been in the heated paint cabin. Also the price was very fair and it was according to our prior job start agreement....True gentlemen, because I know their profit on this car has been very limited.

Happy Easter and enjoy the pictures.

Wow fantastic news and it is always good when the result equals the promised expectations. Nice to see a body shop behave in a fair and gentlemanly manner. Love the colour :)

10 weeks for a full paint job is nothing.... a lot of time is needed for the processes of drying....
    well done!

10 weeks is quite fast I know. Every layer has to cure for several days/weeks pending thickness to avoid subsidens of the final paint layer. The paint shop I used was quite small, so they had a natural motivation to get rid of the car asap to free space for the daily production. It is nearly impossible to find any paint shop in Denmark that takes these project cars in anymore since very few wants to pay the cost for a quality job and labor in Scandinavia is increasingly costly. This shop used my car to cover gaps in the daily production and could as such keep the cost at a reasonable level. Also the owner have interest in classic cars so that also helped a bit. I am receiving the wheels next week and are excited to see how they come out, hopefully not too silver and bright......

    Best regards

    Peter

Finally got the wire harness installed and mounted up the main fuse board. Also fabricated a "Plug in" extension board for "hidden" installation behind the pedal box. The extension board carries the daylight driving light controls, alarm and door control system and other interface that the car needs for safe "driving". I also decided to install 4 pilot relays for the main and dip light to lower the voltage drop and to reduce current draw in the original installation. The original installation is kept as factory made and the two extra boards are plugged in with standard connectors and can be decommissioned in a few minutes if wanted; For the purists.....-:).

    Regards

The roof from Henk went in this weekend. I'm very pleased with the fit and quality, basically no issues at all and the fabric was easy to work with. My first roof job ever so it took some time, but I'm happy with the result. I don't like the design of the L-series roof lamp bracket, it's clumsy and can be seen through the roof but not much to do about it - Thank you to omjon for a short and good installation advise.

Peter, I know you went for Grigio Met. for your Dino.... it would have looked like this if you would have gone for the original Bianco Polo Park...
(found this period factory picture of an very early L-series, #00416)
    :)
interestingly no number plate holder... no holes... (export Dino to Switzerland)

Thanks for the picture Matthias. Nice looking accessories, but the color choice can be discussed.....-:) Funny to imagine that this car most likely left the assembly line a few days after mine.
