Guys, I know a lot of you have been asking me about this over the past few days, but I didn't want to say anything until we knew it would be ready. After talking to Gail a few days ago, and talking to the CHP, Andrew Kirby and I came up with an 18x24 poster in memoriam of Luis which we would like everyone who knew him to sign. Once signed and framed (it's already on foam-core), I'll take it and put it up on the tree which sadly took our friend, along with a Spanish flag wrapped around (Senna style). Further, we're sending a scrapbook to his parents, so any letters and other mementos you would like to include in this, bring them on Saturday and I'll assemble everything. I'll be there by 9am, and you can obviously find me pretty easily. --Dan
Also forgot to add, if you absolutely can't make it to SR this saturday call me on my cell and we'll figure something out. But if I'm making it (and I can't stand those SR mornings), you'd better have a pretty damn good excuse. --Dan
I'll be there with Dan with the posters, with pens to sign them. We hope anyone that knew Luis or was touched by him will come to SR and sign them.
Guys, Robert has been gracious enough to translate for us to Luis' parents, who will be there on Saturday most likely. As such, I highly encourage you to bring whatever photos you have (of Luis - not his car) so that you can contribute to the album that Lyndon is doing. I can't be any more explicit about that point re his car vs him. While Luis' car was a big part of how we knew him, it obviously was only a small part of his life. Further, I can't imagine his parents are too keen on seeing his car. As such, please limit your photos to those of him, or if you must, him with the car. Pictures exclusively of his car don't need to make it in. --Dan
I'll be there. Dan, Are people going to caravan there to the site?? Or are you just going to put it there yourself??
I will be there as well. I setup an upload page for the scrapbook, most of you should have it by now, PM Dan or Nizam if you need it. EDIT: here it is: http://luisa.cdglobal.net/
Dan, I had Ben set that up because I've received some PM's and not everyone knows how to interact with FTP. Either method will make it into the scrapbook (see Scrapbook thread).
