I'm going to be staying overnight in the SJ area on Friday night, and can bring the 355 by SR on Saturday morning... Is it still on, or are all the cars in hibernation for the winter?

I might show up. I just finished installing a small windsplitter inside the nose of SNKVNNM. Been wanting to take it on the freeway for a test run but didn't find time yet. Here's my repost on another forum:

    =============================================================================================

With a nice sunny day yesterday, I decided to tackle the front end of SNKVNNM. The big thing was the windsplitter but to install the windsplitter, the bumpers must come off since this is what it's bolted to.

Not as noticable was the addition of the rubber grommets on the body that the bumper rods go through, and additionally, shortening of those rods (I left a lot of material initially and came out 1-1.5" too long. So here's yesterday's work:

Removal of the bumper; here, you can see the 4 holes without the grommets:

Used my cutting wheel to make quick work of the threaded rods:

The grommets are actually an oval shape due to the angle of the "nose" so I used a caliper to help measure how much material I needed to remove with the die-grinder w/carbide grinder bit:

    (sorry for the blurry pics)

Finally, installed the windsplitter (the grommet are better seen here):

Now to find a desserted stretch of road to see how it feels. :D

Sorry we didn't make it today... Actually, we were there, but in the wife's Celica, to do some shopping. The 355's been problematic since I got it in late June, and shortly after we set off Friday morning for San Jose, I turned the 355 around and switched to the Celica, because there were some things that just didn't feel right about the car... So, instead of risking having trouble far from home and ruining the two days away from home with car problems, we just took the wife's car and went that way. Eventually, hopefully, I'll have fixed it up enough, and I'll have enough faith in my car to make a multi-day trip in it. :(

Thats to bad, I was looking forward to seeing your car. I am suprised that you are having trouble, I drive my 355 and 360 any where without worry.

I think these exotic cars give peaple trouble because they sit to much. Hope you get it worked out.

A true friend. I can picture your typical day.....

Friend #1 - "Man, my dog died today"
Dan - "That sucks. Speaking of dogs, my dog woke me up this morning by licking my face to go for our regular run!!"

    Friend #2 - "I just got fired"
Dan - "That's too bad. Hey, that IPO I was telling you about came through so I finally just bought that second home in Palm Springs I have always wanted.....and paid CASH."

Friend #3 - "I think my wife is cheating on me"
Dan - "Wow, that's too bad. Man, I know what you must be going through. I am in a similar situation. I have been running around with another guy's wife and am always having to cover my tracks, be careful about when I am calling, what I am saying....."

Ha!! Just kidding my friend!! ;-)
