Here's your chance. Not affiliated, just spotted it on eBay... https://www.ebay.com/itm/SARATOGA-Lexan-targa-top-roof-for-Ferrari-308-328-with-extras-very-rare/322410256054?hash=item4b112616b6:g:V8MAAOSw8w1X9diy
lmpossible to find or not,a Saratoga top just isn't worth that sort of money,l mean you won't get a $11k benefit out of it..personally l would pay $2k max if l were in the market for one..
Agreed; it is only a sheet of Lexan, that's all. I seem to recall that there were about 150 made in total. But I am somewhat partial to this, as I already have one. I have considered creating the very exclusive "Saratoga Top owner's club of France"... Rgds
The rule of supply ans demand prevail. This top has been for sale for some time now and the asking price is just that. $11K seems rich but FMV probably is half that amount and would likely sell at that price. $2K is unrealistic, why you will pay more than that for a factory targa top, if can be found, that wouls still need restoration work.
I have one and love it. But if that thing on eBay sells anywhere near what is being asked, mine is going there next.
Carl... The last top known to change hands sold for $7500 among f-chatters (no eBay fees). It was a nice top but far less complete than the eBay top in question.
If you put one of those things on your car where I live, you'd fry your nuts in a heartbeat. "Solar Oven" springs to mind.
It doesn't make the inside hot at all. I live in a very hot climate and the top blocks out the heat just fine in the summer. It will surprise you.
You’re missing that it is “or best offer”, and that the seller is a well respected member here, and knows the Ferrari parts market very well, so he deserves better than your comment about smoking crack. You probably didn’t realize all that, however. I’m not the seller, or his mom, by the way, just a former Saratoga top owner. Given the trajectory of the price of these since 2010, I’d wager the seller will get close to that amount. In 2010, a Saratoga top was a $1500 item, then in a couple years a $4000, item, then a couple years more, a $7500 item. Here is a link to detailed photos of a top I owned a few years ago to give a better appreciation for what these are: https://milepost105.smugmug.com/Ferrari-308-and-328-Saratoga-T These tops are the rarest of the 308 accessories, are beautifully made, and add quite a bit to the enjoyment of the car. Cheers, Jeff
So, it is not possible that some re manufacture them ? How many GTS (308 & 328 ) owners would like one ? Anybody try ?
Not worth the cost to even try. It has been discussed here before. The customer base for them is just too small.
With no disrespect intended to the seller. I view these tops as an aftermarket accessory, equivalent to fitting carbon fiber seats or Aftermarket wheels. ZERO interest in one even at $1100.
That's your priviledge, of course; I have had mine for five years now, and never had put the original one on the car again. I like the "Saratoga top" very, very much; lets a lot of light inside the cabin, and where the car is, it's difficult to drive with the top off from mid October to end March; and truly impossible in January or February. To bring the car to "full original" again, the swap between the original top and the Saratoga top is done in one minute without even turning a screw, or needing a wrench. No sweat. Rgds
The Saratoga actually give you, let's say "slightly more headroom": let's say about half an inch... Rgds
And yet priced as if they were OEM. You Guys are happy with it and that’s all that matters. Post above asked if there were any interest in I stated MY opinion . As far as adding a half inch of headroom. Depending on how much cash I have in my wallet or sitting on a coat tail on a given day would make that a wash. LOL
