Has anyone had sat radio installed in a Cayman? If so how does it look? I am in the process of buying a Cayman S and I really want to have sat radio but I have no need/want for the nav, so I would have to add it and I am just wondering how it would look.

I could be wrong on this, but I think you can get Satellite radio without navigation. You do, however, end up with the PCM unit that could be converted to navigation. On my 911 and Panamera the big screen on the PCM unit has a lot of information when Satellite radio is selected.

How is the nav in your vehicles. I was told that in the pre 09's the nav was terrible but it has improved, that is why I am not real interested in it. My wife has a brand new Mercedes grocery getter and she was in Kansas City a few weeks ago with her sister and they wanted to go to DQ and the nav told them that the nearest one was in Tulsa, but it is fun to watch when you are driving, just not that dependable.

Not sure about your car, but on a 997, installing sat radio using the screens (you can buy the kit at dealers like suncoast porsche) is a pain. If I remember right dealers tell you it is 6 to 8 hour install, and you need to remove a lot of the interior. This is on pre 09 cars, but there are aftermarket companies that make ipod (dennison is one of them) adapters, maybe they now make sat radio as well. I'd check out Rennlist, there are plenty of people on there that probably have an answer for you.

I've owned Porsche Navigations in '02 911TT, '04 Cayenne Turbo, '05 911-997, '06 Cayenne Turbo, '07 911TT, '08 Cayenne Turbo, '09 911-997 and now in a 2010 Panamera Turbo. I've watched it go from CD activated to DVD activated to hard drive activated. It got better every year, not necessarily just because of the accuracy, but because of the speed of calculation. In the Panamera Turbo it is tied in with the XM traffic and will reroute to avoid accidents and road construction. Pretty amazing in my view. There are numerous options you can set to customize it to your preferences.

Well I guess I'm going to find out on Saturday. I just got a deal done on a 10 Cayman S and it has the Navigation and the XM radio already on the car. I'm getting it from Porsche Omaha, and let me just say, they gave me a GREAT deal, and I couldn't be happier.
