anybody using any of these apps?

I started looking at a few but can't tell what one to get if any at all. I found this site, the links to the apps look sketchy at best, but there have to be options out there for say cnn, speed, oln, playboy tv ;) whatever.

Don't purchase this software. It's available for free under a couple of different names. Not sure if I can post links here, but do a search for zviewer for delayed network TV shows. It's based on the Firefox browser and is in beta, but works well. There is also Hulu. For live sat., search for SopCast, TVant and RevoluTV. My home sat went out and I watched the NFL playoffs on TVant. Keep in mind that it is a hit or miss on what you'll see at any given time, but the programs are fun to play with. I've found that they are loaded with European Sports. That's a bogus blog you linked to by the way. Hope this helps.

I hought they were bogus, and thanks for the suggestions. As for Hulu, I have been on since the public beta about 14 months ago, love it!

Don't do it, it's not even "real" TV. It's weird channels, and not even worth it.

If you have a TV service already, I suggest Slingbox, works wonders. If you don't have TV service, go to your buddies and set it up. Won't mess with theirs a bit. :)

i looked at the links for the Slingbox for "place shifting" as this is called. the HAVA box seems better and cheaper.

i only have basic cable and no box, but it does not say anywhere if there are any legal issues with using one of these?

my understanding is you have your basic cable channels, but you can watch them remotely on other devices?

more reading to do it seems. i was just wondering about this the other day.

My interest is travelling and getting familiar programs, not random crap from the net or locking in to just one channel. I have Directv at home right now and am going to read up on slingbox and hava.

    1. First time I've ever heard of HAVA, IMO If I were buying one, I would go with something familar, although it doesn't hurt to try HAVA. If there are good reviews for HAVA, give it a shot, let us know. :)
    2. I honestly have no idea of what the legal issues are, I'm sure you can find out somehow.
    3. Yeah, that's pretty much what it is, They are coming out with an app for the iPhone, so you can watch it mobile-y. :D
    4. Yup, My roommate freshman year had it, and connected it to his laptop, and used to watch HBO and all the channels he had back home. He told me all about it, one thing he said was, it took a little while to load since our internet was slow, so not sure if thats a problem for everyone or if it really was our internet.

Sopcast is down, revolutv has crap like taliban tv, not much usable. I am going to try tvant and zviewer later.

Also, if you want to pay for movie streaming, not TV. Try Graboid, 4.99 a month, I had it before they made it a paying site. Now they have HD movies, I think there are some coupon codes out there, so you can get one month free, sort of like a trial.

    For movie sites, try Vreel.net
