I've taken a lot of gruff here in years past for rating Sato highly as a driver. But, given SA pace these past few races and now consistently showing pace in season testing I can't imagine it won't be long before Honda begins to ship the team detuned engines rather than the ones they're using.

Kimi was at the top of the sheets: http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=31282

McLaren was third with Ralph in the Toyota (and a new aero package) in fourth. BMW was in Fifth, Renault in sixth and Honda in seventh.

So, what do you guys think? If you were Honda would you send them the weak stuff?

If I were a big wig over at Honda, I would first try to throw as much money at Ross Brawn as possible, to entice him to join. I would also thrash any plans to improve the current car, and focus on next years car. For the mean time, I would use the previous year car, if it were possible.

That is a good idea, especially the part about Brawn, perhaps they can also get Rory Byrne to come out of Semi Retirement. Byrne's designs are what got Ferrari up there, starting with 05 Aldo Costa took over. Bryne never seemed to get the recognition of Adrian Newey, and the Bryne cars were WCC from 99- 04.

As far as the Honda from this year, I agree scrap it and run last years car with as many updates, without messing up the 08 design. I still can't for the world of me figure out why they would have demoted Geoff Willis, and why someone (Williams?) has not picked him up.

Yeah, Williams seem to be fairing well on their own though. I thought they would be back there with STR and Spyker, but they're actually outperforming the Toyota factory team! With a fraction of their budget! So whatever they're doing, more power to them. It seems like Toyota isn't very efficient, and Honda is taking a huge step backwards. I don't know anything that can improve their situation, besides a overhaul of top personel.

1st step- fire all your designers/engineers
2nd step- hire all Super Aguri designers/engineers
3rd step- get Ross Brawn or Rory Bryne
    4th step- get SA chassis

or wait till next year and get a customer car from Super Aguri.
