Hello everyone. I have been a very active user over at 6speedonline and would love to get to know some of the other people here on F-chat. We are going to be doing a Car and Coffee gathering this Saturday in Kirkland on the north end of the "strip" next to Cactus restaurant. Great location with good parking on the corner lot, and on the street, Early enough to get some good spots and have a good start to the weekend. There are a number of us that get together once a week to some fun drives and would love to see some of you join us. Mainly Porsche's with a couple 360's and F430's having fun right now. Look for us this weekend :) Lets try and make this a weekly event for the spring and summer

    Cheers
    Bruce

here are a couple pix form last weekend (even in the rain)

i think it'd be fantastic if we could get a "crystal cove" type deal going in seattle and kirkland downtown would be a good location, but then the only expansive spot is by the shark club.

plus the weather is not as nice, but hey, any sunny day i say we do it.

ya that is the idea here (Crystal Cove). Now Kirkland is a good spot for this to "start" then we can alway expand, or take over other parking lots around kirkland. For now I can see this lasting until 10am-11am so not really late in the morning, then we all go for a nice drive!

My long term idea is to work with the local stores where we will hold the venue and make it a good thing for them and for us.

This Saturday would be a bad one to try getting many folks from the local FCA too. Our annual meeting is this Saturday. I'm also with Michael, 0800 is a bit early unless you live close by. Sounds like a good idea other than that, I hope it takes off. I made it Crystal Cove once before it folded or mutated or moved or whatever.... lot of nice cars there!!

you just need to have that core group with some nice rides to show consistently... i think 8AM is fine to get to the spot ahead of the morning crowd and just have it build an build, though it'll never be at the level of cc.

another good spot in that same area is the park place mall with the qfc and sbux. keep it towards the park side or the side by the pancake house and we might be fine for a few weeks in the summer until people complain.

then we can move.... another good spot is houghton park and the slight hill by kidd valley. there's a large street lot with good parking and in a somewhat conspicuous location, but the sbux is a bit far at carillon.

about 3 miles north is the juanita village area. nice sbux there with good parking and should handle the initial size just fine. might also consider some place on mercer island right in that growing downtown area.

just throwing some ideas out to get the juices flowing. sorry, bruce, not intending at all to steer the focus away from the location you suggested in the top post.

not a problem at all!!! any input is good input.

and for some other people, There is a starting time for the gathering, and then from there we hang out, talk cars, and have fun.. Driving and other things happen after that. How far away are you if you live 2 hours away? I understand if some people don't make it, this isn't the only one, just a start to something new and fun :)

I just did in a drive in my 996 from Puyallup (where I live now) to San Fran ;) and back 3 days later.. gotta tell ya that is one of the best ways to enjoy the car!

    +1 for Kirkland

Note: A "Crystal Cove" (S. CA) or "Santana Row" (N. CA) type event would be great, but this Saturday is a bad choice for the day as the Fcars have a group function in the morning.

shoot,. the yummies will be showing up around 8-10am ;) they want to get out of the house without the kids :)

and I know people will be going in and out from 8am-till whatever time we go for a drive. Some people have to do stuff early in the morning cause their "wives" make them do their things.. lol I mean this doesn't mean everyone SHOWS up at 8am... just a time to start rolling in together.. heck sometimes I know I can't wake till after 9 due to priorities the night before
and inform us about the Ferrari meet, what time are you guys meeting, what time are you done? Maybe meet up together for a "fun" drive after

Cool, I might wander down on Sat. to check this out. My in-laws have a condo by there, so I'll stop by and say hi to them as well.

I have always wanted something like this to spring up, wonder if Carillon point would allow a gathering?

Also, there's a semi-empty lot behind where you guys are meeting (more to the east, at teh end of the strip Cactus is in) that might work out as well.

I just moved into my new place at Bridle Trails in Kirkland and the Bridle Trails shopping center is a great location:
    - HUGE parking lot between the 2 strip malls, Pagliacci Pizza, and the bowling alley
    - Starbucks, Tullys, ARCO, and Red Apple Grocery store with clean bathrooms
    - Easy access from 405, take the 70th St exit east to 132nd Ave

If you want to come down to Redmond at that time on a Saturday you could take over Redmond town center (and the outdoor street that runs between the two halves). There's even a couple of Starbucks there.

Bah! Rain or not, I will be driving my 355 up to Vancouver, BC...I hope to see all you guys at the new Ferrari Store at Aberdeen Centre, in Richmond, BC on Sunday. The turn out should be huge, with Ferraris and Maseratis from all over the Lower Mainland and Washington State.
