One of my earliest memories is being in the Ferrari and being shorter than the dash and going fast.

I turned 30 in March, and The day finally came where he wasn't in the passenger seat anymore. I kinda knew it was going to happen, but it was still a BIG leap for both of us. An Italian man letting his grandson drive his ferrari (the one he bought new) back home is not an every day thing. He is leaving me the car one day, but he entrusted me to get her home safe.

He left the keys in her and left with his wife. I left the Show and caravan'd back home with my fam in their cars with me (mustangs, and fast ones). we took the long road back, about a 45min drive, mostly backroads and twisties. We took some pics, went through town, did the whole she-bang. Weather was perfect, car was clean, and it went off without a hitch. I didn't stall it once. Didn't even grind reverse!

So, how does it feel to drive my dream car? I am not disappointed. The slight vibration through the shifter, the precise steering, the way she sounds @ 6,500rpm's and hangs @ 5k effortlessly is serene. I don't care if it's not super fast. It made me perma-grin for the rest of the weekend, and that's why it's my dream car.

talk about über adult responsibilities teamed up with memories and a perfect day.

I can totally relate. I remember the first time I drove my dad's '67 Corvette (427), after spending my entire life riding in it, and dying for my turn behind the wheel. It was almost surreal.

Great story. Love the car! What a great color combo for a 308 GTB. Any more pics?

    38k miles is nothing.

I am about to hit 73k or so and I know there are a LOT of cars here who have a LOT more than that!!!
