    This Saturday, the 6th, there's a small, informal drive down to Everglades National Park -

    Leaving from Weston at 8am, - Flannigan's parking lot on Weston Road, off of Royal Palm & I-75.

    We'll stop for breakfast, then continue down through old Florida in the Homestead area, where we will enter the park. The park offers fantastic views of wildlife and the Everglades, including some stops at the lookout pavilions to see some alligators, etc. Plenty to see and do along the way. On the way back, time permitting, we will try to include a stop at the Everglades Alligator farm, which is home to over 2,000 alligators, wildlife, and airboat rides.

    This is a full day adventure, but for those of you who want to come down and cut out early, that's fine too!!

    In all seriousness watch your speed on the park road. They will ticket you for anything over 55.

    Also buy gas before you enter the park. It is 38 miles or so from the park gate to the marina. There is a Shell where the turnpike ends on US 1 and a Mobile after you make the left onto Palm Ave. The fried chicken at the Mobile station is good (Dion's).

    All VERY good advise! Thank you!! Yes, I almost forgot that the park rangers do patrol the speed pretty well in the park, and getting gas beforehand is a must!!

    I haven't tried the fried chicken at Dion's, though..........but, I guess I will on the 6th!!!

    It was fun meeting everyone and seeing the sites.

    I was more concerned about alligators but never knew that they had signs that said:

    "WARNING:VULTURES EAT RUBBER PIECES OFF OF CARS!!!!"

    Fred good thing you didnt bring the Lotus, the tires were already bare:)

    Thank you to Fred for taking the time to put things like this together and for everyone who came out and showed me a good time. Sorry I had to cut out early. Trying to keep a nice balance with the Mrs.

    I have a bunch of pictures I took while on vulture duty. Although a lot of them have license plates. I'll post these. If any of you want more send me a PM with an e-mail address and I'll send the rest. Not that I have a ton, but more than these anyway.

    Michael, thanks for the hat!! I can't imagine how much worse it would have been without it on the way home. Wow, I'm a targa top rookie. I'll only make that mistake once. I'm an official redneck now haha.

    My wife will drop it off at Ferrari Fort Lauderdale this week.

    No problem! Yeah, the FL sun sneaks up on all you guys from the north. Next time you'll probably have a hard time gripping the steering wheel with all the sun tan lotion everywhere - Ha!

    Thanks for dropping it off - Benn Correale will be glad to hide it in his desk until I can get there to pick it up.
