Saturday Night Live has a strict rule about not accepting ideas etc from outside sources. So I'll say it here.

My opening idea: They open with a bunch of Republican hopefuls (actors) behind podiums in the background. Someone stands front and center and announces "Welcome to NY. It's Saturday Night Live". Someone standing next to him or her then leans over and whispers (his or her voice is audible to the audience) that this is the Republican presidential debate. She or he then announces "Welcome to New York. It;'s the Republican presidential debate". He or she then leans over (his or her voice is audible to the audience): Really. It sure seems like Saturday Night Live.

SNL is so played out. its become the rich little imitation show. not an original comedic thought to be found. the genuinely funny exit show immediately to bigger and better things leaving the wannabes behind.

Having watched it (faithfully) in the early years with all the original cast members, to me it seemed it was never the same after all the original cast members eventually left. After that I never cared to watch it anymore. :( To me it was not funny anymore. The first years were excellent. (sorry for the poor grammar).

I was too young to watch the original cast. I've seen the reruns though. But have to say, the era I was old enough was the best. Watched the show from mid 80's, till the early 90's. After that the show was going downhill and its never recovered.

Snl did have talent, thru out, some seasons/periods better than others..the sweatshirt I scored from this year,91 I think, was pretty pretty good..funny that Frankens sig was in red and the rest blue..there was well knowns on this listing and in fact how do you feed all those appetites?
Anyway the writing varied,in fact IMHO was inconsistent..so more mehs than hits..but I might watch Chris Rock read the phone book😉...some other good guys too.
Anyway this is one of my favorite stuffs..wish I hadn't slurped coffee on it!
    Cheers,
