http://www.spiegel.de/sport/formel1/0,1518,669949,00.html Summary: Peter Sauber said that he already has a second driver, and that "his description does not fit Heidfeld". Rumors are that it's Pedro de la Rosa.
It's a pity; Heidleld is a good steady driver and probably faster than de la Rosa who is out of practice and never looked like being remotely fast anyway. Ha, the musical chairs ....
With all the great promise of next season, politics still find a way to spoil a great show.Thank God they're happening at the back of the grid more than at the front.Unfortunately, they still happen at the front(hence Alonso who we put above 2 more talented drivers,Schumi AND Kimi).
Funny you say that: Just recently I read a headline somewhere where they described Heidfeld as the King of musical chairs. Maybe not this time. Disclaimer: I'm a huge Kimi fan. Kimi has probably a tad more talent on raw speed compared to Alonso, but what good is that going to do if he lacks the passion to drive 100% all the time? Schumacher was never an option for Ferrari as his comeback comes a bit sudden and way after the ink on Alonso's contract has dried. Also I'm not sure Schumacher right now is better than Alonso. They're both very complete driver and one has the distinct advantage of not having had a 3 year sabbatical, is 10 years younger and beat the other one 2 years in a row. Even if Schumacher had been an option for Ferrari, Alonso is the better choice.
Poor Nick...sounded like he was about to get a seat fitting in the new Mercedes, until MS returned to grid in the 11th hour. Now he's left out in the gravel traps. I hope there's a decent seat remaining for him somewhere.
It's always us two who argue the point of Schumi VS Alonso.Schumi is up on the guy,not even close in the same machinery.I wanted Schu t get that 3rd car and show Freddie-boy how its done.
Any word on Heidfeld? It's a shame nobody seems interested in him. Too bad USF1 couldn't grab him. He would be a great addition I think.
Luckily we won't have to put you on suicide watch: The chances that Rosberg blows away MS are close to zero. I feel your passion btw. I can work myself into a frenzy over a driver winning/or not as well. You only know me as an anti-MS guy, but before 2004 I was an all out Rottkaeppchen guy and would have murdered Hakkinen if I had a chance to in 1998 or 1999. When his McLaren blew up in front of me at the USGP in 2000 I was screaming at the top of my lungs. Folks around me looked at me bewildered, but I knew right in that very moment that Hakkinen's title fight was over and MS would finally clinch it for the Scuderia after 21 effing long years.
Rooting for Alonso in 2005, which made for a lousy personal experience at the USGP and the Canadian GP. But that's just par for the course: When you root for a particular driver, the chances, that he will actually succeed in the very GP you attend are not that good (unless he is a serial winner like MS). Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose.
