This has been a long time coming . I bought the accident damaged CS in 2018 . Being LHD I am unable to register the car in South Africa . So my plan has been to find a suitable RHD donor car here in SA and transfer every last CS part over into it . Effectively building a re-shelled RHD CS .
However being inspired by 360Trev , Clean512 and RANDY6005 I want to build an aesthetically correct CS , but maximize weight loss , improve handling dynamics , drivability and power .
I have finally found a suitable Modena donor car . It was nicely specked from the factory , with challenge grills front and rear and a sports exhaust ( CS exhaust ) .
This is no small project and is certainly going to take time . I have spent the last while going through all the wiring harnesses I have in both the CS and the Modena . Now being a LHD to RHD CS swop complicates the issue , however it turns out I seem to only require 3 harnesses . Being the RHD CS dash harness , RHD CS ABS harness ( different part number to RHD Modena ABS harness ) and the front harness ( possibly the front harness I have is useable ) .
I reached out to Aldous about the harnesses and he had an idea that I may be able to flip the LHD CS dash harness upside-down . Subsequently I have found an original RHD CS dash harness and think I will just go that route , as chasing an electrical fault is the last thing I want .
I have been lucky enough to have had a number of phone conversations with 360Trev , who has been unbelievably helpful and encouraging .
Initially I want to get the project up and running with the engine and gearbox that is in the Modena at present ( I will add all the CS inlet parts to that motor ). Later possibly stripping the CS motor to freshen it ( as it has been standing for more than five years now !! )
The interior has been completely stripped out of the Modena , only the dash remains . The entire CS interior is about to go off and be redone in new grey Alkantara .In another thread I detailed the CS dash end mod that I am busy with plus the RHD lower dash that I am building .
I need to do belts and a full service . When I am doing the inlet swap I will do the heat exchanger and fuel lines at the same time .
I received only one black fob with the CS and hope I can get that functioning with the CS alarm module , later doing an alarm delete .
Lots of work ahead . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Good luck Duck. Looking forward to joining you for a drive in the mountains. Great pic of your CS, Testarossa behind and Esprit Turbo on the lift. Cheers

I feel happy my name is in that. I have grown very passionate for the 360 chassis. And to make something that someone else wouldn't think of. Its great to think outside the box on projects like this and they are not for everyone. But the end results are amazing. Cheers and happy motoring

I am going to be watching this project with great interest. I went with a friend of mine when he collected the 360 new in 2003.

Apologies for lack of updates . I am recovering from a bought of COVID !!
I have a question re wiring harnesses . My CS is a Japanese car and is therefore ( USA,CAN,JAP ) specified .
Regards the RH rear tunnel harness
    CS ( USA,CAN,JAP ) part #198555 ( this has the CS 50A F1 relay )
    CS ( other countries ) part #198554 ( assuming should have 50A relay )

Now my Modena has harness #198554 BUT no 50A F1 relay ??

Anyone know the difference between USA,CAN,JAP cars and "other countries" electrics ?
Can I use the #198555 50A harness in my Modena ?

On the 575M, that upgrade to the 50 amp F1 pump relay also included connections for a steering position sensor (Nov 2003). The CS and 360 already have the steering position sensor, so the improved harness should work fine on earlier CS and 360 models since I do not think there were any additional connections or upgrades.

Thanks Taz , I am busy pulling the RH rear tunnel harness and the F1 harness from the CS , then I can try and do a comparsen before pulling the harnesses from the Modena , which is much more difficult as it is still all assembled
    appreciate your help

Lots of stripping and cleaning been happening . I wanted to change the gearbox heat exchanger and want to do " Aldous's " cam timing setup . So have dived in and removed the intake plenum , giving me much more room for the dial gauges when the tappet covers are off . I found that the top engine coolant pipe ( from heads to exchanger) that connects to the heat exchanger was badly corroded and will require replacing . Fortunately I have a spare .
