I hope the car looks better proportioned in the metal than it does in the pictures, my feeling from the pictures is that the whole car looks too long. Was talking to a few Maserati owners the other day and the concensus was that while the Cabrio is very nice a lot of people would love Maserati to build a shorter wheelbase 2 seat convertible with the S engine.
It looks great in the metal and the rear seats are real seats that adults can sit in with good head room. The interior is very nice and the top opens and closes quickly.
Gee, I wonder who the mysterious floating voice is on that video ... ;>) Hi FM Car looks great. With all that room I imagine we'll see them frequently stuffed with gorgeous babes. Top(s) down of course ... Bob S.
Here are a couple stills from the same photo shoot at the Pininfarina Styling Center in Cambiano (Turin) I see someone caught the differant wheels Looks like the interior was filled with water. Actually the car was really well done and the scale was just right. Before i saw it in the skin I thought it might be too big, but not the case at all. It appeared to be just right. For scale, note the people around it. Ciao, FGM Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Frank: It's not a water layer...it is the boundary between Italy's offical economy and their cash economy You have a PM. best regards, Marc
From the MSN home page articles today: Jim Glickenhaus, the investment manager, former movie director and noted Ferrari collector, was surveying the scene. Two years ago, thered have been a line out the door, Glickenhaus said, gesturing to the half-filled room. You dont need the velvet ropes anymore. (Glickenhaus owns both the oldest Ferrari in existence -- chassis #002, the cycle-fendered 166 Spyder Corsa racer from 1947 -- and the P4/P5, a one-of-a-kind Ferrari that the Pininfarina design house built to his specifications.) The recession, he said, has high-end buyers looking for genuine value, whether in history, collectibility or craftsmanship. Cream-of-the-crop brands like Ferrari and Maserati (both owned by Fiat) will continue to exist, he said, but the go-go days are over for now. Duesenberg went of business in the Depression, not because people couldnt afford Duesenbergs, but because no one wanted to drive them past the bread lines, he said. Todays situation is the same: Its just not much fun to flaunt. For Ferrari, he said, the notorious years-long waiting lists and huge dealer premiums over list price have vanished. The 599 GTB Fiorano, once so hot that some prospects shelled out premiums of $100,000 or more to secure one, can now be had by anyone with the $320,000 sticker price in hand because, as Glickenhaus noted, dealers are faced with skittish customers who have backed out of taking delivery on pre-ordered cars. I could get you eight of them by next week, he said.
They had an unveiling at FNE last weekend. i thought it was hideous. We went to the Panamera unvieling first, then to the Mase. I have to say, the panamera looks aeons better thans this car in person.
Thank God we are all different.... I haven't seen either in person so I may be limited in my response, not to mention I drive a QP so I also may be biased... The Panamera looks absolutely Aweful!! Hideous was the actual word I used when looking at the magazine pics.... I honestly wont even test drive one ( OK, Maybe I'll test just one...) On the other hand the Maserati looks gorgeous... Tony................
So why can't maserati get a bit more imaginative in exterior colors. Pound for pound maserati offers some of the most boring colors on some wonderful cars. Chris
So you don't like the 12 variations of black, blue and grey?? I guess a few more red variations would be nice.. BTW, when people ask me what color my QP is, they look cross eyed when I say grigio alfieri... after a few moments I tell them medium grey.. Tony...
Havent seen it in person but the pics and video blow me away.... One of the five best looking cars of the past decade. I cant imagine how anyone would buy the equivalent BMW or Benz with this available. Now if only I had the cash.
